It had been a few weeks since the mission and things were calm ish. Natasha and Clint were always on a missions, Steve and Tony keep clashing, Bruce has gone away for a little while, Thor and Loki argued about everything so really it was just Peter and myself.

A few days ago Austin wrote to me saying our Dad was ill, really ill... I asked Fury if I could go see him but I had to take someone with me and that someone was Tony, he was the only adult that wasn't busy!

So Tony and I hopped into his fancy fast car and we went to my house, as we pulled up on the drive I didn't see my Mum's or Austin's car, I frowned and got out Tony's car and ran to the door; Locked! I ran to the plant pot and got the spare key, I unlocked the door.

"MOM?" I called; No answer. I walked to the kitchen and looked around; not here. "DAD?"

"HARPER?" I heard my Dad.

I ran past Tony and went to my Mum and Dad's room. I pushed opened the door and saw my Dad lying in bed, his face was pale, bags under his eyes and his hair... Well he didn't have any?

"Harper come here," My Dad told me softly.

I knelt next to his bed and held his hand. "Dad what's wrong?" I asked quietly.

Dad coughed and whizzed. "I haven't been very honest with you Harper and I'm so sorry," He began. "For the last three months I've been battling Cancer, I couldn't tell you."

His words crashed down on me like a ton of bricks, my eyes started watering and my heart had hit rock bottom.

"Mom and Austin knew?" I asked.

Dad nodded weakly. "You're just a child Harper, I didn't want you to be sad," He told me.

I pressed my lips to his hand and cried. "Dad I love you so much, I- I don't blame you for not telling me," I began. "I'm here now okay, I'm not going anywhere!"

Dad shook his head. "Harper you need to listen to me okay?" He asked, I slowly nodded. "I've been very ill these past few days, so here it is; I love you as if you were my own daughter, don't ever think differently and if you ever feel alone you always have your Mom and your brother."

I felt the grip on my hand loosening. "Dad, don't you dare start a goodbye speech!" I told him.

"Harper please, just be good," He told me and a single tear slid down his cheek. "You were always my favourite girl."

I watched helplessly as his eyes closed, his grip was loose, his breathing stopped and he wasn't moving. I sat there on my knees and cried, tears blurred my vision, my hands were shaking.

"I'll call the hospital," Tony told me and left the room.

I looked at my Dad lifeless body. He found me that day, the day I was sent here! He took me in and showed me his family, he fought for custody over me, to me he was my real Dad and now he's gone.

"Harper?" I heard my Mom say.

I didn't look at her. "You knew, you knew and you didn't tell me!" I spat in anger.

My Mom came over towards me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "I wanted to tell you but you wouldn't have handled it, you wouldn't have been you," She explained.

I pushed her hand away and stormed out the room, I stormed down stairs and saw Austin leaning by the front door. He looked up at me with sad eyes, I looked away and went out the front door.

"HARPER WAIT!" Austin shouted, he grabbed my wrist and made me stop. "I wanted to tell you, believe me I did, but I couldn't, I promised Dad I wouldn't!"
