Chapter 7: Rules of Attraction

It was early in the morning and the sound of the bustling crowd the small chit-chats and the sound of coffee and pastries being made filled the cafe with a sweet aroma that made the atmosphere inside relaxing and inviting, Jin's cafe was busy as it was once again the early morning rush hour as people rush to have their breakfast of a cup of coffee before going to work or their other business 

 Behind the counter were Jin, Jisoo and the newly hired Yoona yet the newly hired woman felt extremely uncomfortable given her encounter with Y/n who was now seated in her usual seat in the far corner of the cafe beside the window earlier, she could also feel the tense atmosphere between Y/n and her now boss Jin even Jisoo was a bit worried because of the situation 

Looking back she had just started working that early morning the moment she clocked in she was greeted by Jin and Jisoo with broad smiles plastered on their faces before she rushed to help them behind the counter, she even recalled Jin saying his usual dad jokes that made them laugh even though she didn't find it funny herself but his jokes always lightened up the atmosphere  in the cafe 

but then a few minutes before the early morning rush hour, she noticed Y/n walking inside the cafe with her usually stoic face and emotionless eyes that somewhat gave her a shiver down her spine that she wanted to just hide from her but she couldn't as she was stationed behind the counter and as soon as Y/n approached her, the said stoic woman's eyes turned darker if it was much more possible making her nervous and was taken aback the moment words left her mouth

Y/n: Why are you here? you're not supposed to be here. did you pull up a fake sob story to get Jin to hire you?

Y/n spotted the words with venom laced with them making Yoona cower in fear as beads of sweat formed on her forehead and yet before she could even respond Jin went over there as he oversaw the situation and confront Y/n passive-aggressively

Jin: We already talked about this Y/n stop harassing the poor woman, do you want your usual drink or not?

Y/n: We never really discussed it because your coward ass avoided the topic the moment I spoke about it

Jin sighed and shut his mouth giving a serious glare towards Y/n yet the said woman wasn't even fazed as her expression remains stoic, as for Jisoo who just came back from serving a customer was quick to assess the situation and rushed towards Yoona with a nervous smile and gently pushed her out of there leaving her confused still staring at both Jin and Y/n who continue stare at each other

Jin: I already said it Jeon Y/n... there is no reason for you to be like that to that young woman she simply wants to work here 

Y/n: Oh please... she probably told you about having a brother and now she is supporting him by herself what a great sob story, to say the least...

Jin was shocked confirming to Y/n that she was right and scoffed at Jin who still held his ground as he didn't see any reason for the young woman to be fired when she is just here to work to support her only family her brother, but he was shocked of how Y/n knew about it and why is she so riled up about Yoona being here in the first place, he sighed once again and look at Y/n softly

Jin: Y/n... I don't know how you know about that but she wants to help her brother and I already did a background check on her as I did on Jisoo she is clean 

Y/n: *Scoffs* you didn't dig deep enough Jin. Like I said don't come running to me when that day happens... I'll get my usual and don't talk to me until you fire her

Y/n didn't even let Jin have a chance to speak when she immediately left and sat on her usual seat, Jin sighed for the third time and went to make her drink with a gloomy look on his face and as Yoona recalled what happened Jin even attempts to apologise to Y/n by giving the stoic woman her favourite pastry yet she didn't even look at him one bit
