I've always loved to see the world from above. Flying in the sky while looking through your window, seeing how vast are the lands and the seas, comparing to yourself. It makes you realise how small and trivial you are in comparison with the earth and her lands, humbling you.
My thoughts were interrupted by the person sitting next to me. "Are you alright y/n?" The tall man asked politely, waiting for my response. He was not only tall but buff, bigger than an average person. His brown skin glowed as the gold jewellery on his ears and his face showed concern. "Yes I am, thank you for asking, I was just lost in thought."
"Are you excited?" I was expecting his inquiry. "Yes, I can't wait to see Japan." I told him taking off my headphones. "Are you worried?" It was my turn to ask him.
"A bit, after all he said it was urgent." He sighed showing a bit of his anxiety. "Everything is going to work out, don't worry." I smiled and I took his hand on mine. "I should be saying that, not the other way around."
After a bit, we were finally on Japan's airport waiting for the famous Joseph Joestar. We spotted him, sitting on a bench. His characteristic silhouette, tall and muscular, even at his age, charming dare I say, could be distinguished from afar. He wore a black turtleneck with beige pants and coat, and of course his hat.
"Mister Joestar." Avdol acknowledged his friend. Him on the other hand smiled and shook his hand, ruffling my hair after. "And how's the little lady?" He chuckled as he saw me trying to fix some strands.
"I am fine, but you are still the same after all those years." His smile widened into a toothy grin, after hearing my comment. "You flatter me, such a little devil!"
"So, where are we going?" Avdol's seriousness made him pause, listening to his question. "Holly will be here soon to take us. Let's wait." He replied and we sat down on the bench next to him, making casual conversation about our trips. Not long after, a petite blonde woman appeared, running towards Joseph.
The dialogue between them seemed casual until the woman's, I suppose Holly's, facial expression darkened. Even though I was not listening I could guess the topic of conversation. After all that's why we traveled this great distance. Joseph snapped his finger, and taking that as our cue Avdol and I stood up, following the pair.
The whole ride to the police department was silent except for the radio blasting music. Holly being familiar with the situation took the lead and now we were walking towards the dark cells. The huge hallway was dark and endless, except for the light that illuminated some parts of the building, due to small windows that every cell had. The damp walls made the place even hotter due to humidity, and the smell was foul.
At some point we saw a guard talking more like to himself than the prisoner. He mumbled "He's violent! Something horrible is haunting him... If word of this gets out I'll get canned in a second!"
Poor lad. Though I didn't feel any pity for him.
"Don't worry..." another voice told him, "I'll be taking my grondson with me."
The police guard tried to argue, stating that Joseph was not allowed to approach for his safety but the older man had other plans. "I'll take care of it just get out of my way!" He almost shouted pushing the guard away. I'm sure if it was someone else's doing, they would not get away with that.
Holly also tried to persuade her son to come out, in vain though, as her son was stubborn as a goat. After some staring competition, imperative for their male fragile masculinity, Avdol stepped out of the shadows, while I remained there, to watch the show.
"This is a friend of mine. We met in Egypt three years ago. His name is Avdol." He looked his said friend pleading him to get his stubborn grandson out of his cell.
"You seem like a strong guy, but..." A deep voice was heard speaking. The stubborn grandson seemed to inherit his grandfather genes, gifting him height and broad shoulders, a body full of muscles. In the dark, his features could not be distinguished easily, but the outlines of his features were sharp as a blade. "Back off." He said as he began to stand up from the bed.
"Mr Joestar, I may have to get a little rough. Enough to make him suffer so he will want to leave of his own volition." Avdol said glaring the tall guy, whose name I learned to be Jotaro, due to his mother. Joseph agreed to the request of his friend, earning a whining response from the guards that he shut up by telling them off.
I knew the situation but the stubbornness of this man surprised me. Was he willing to injure himself in order to stay in jail and why? Was he in his right mind? No offence Mr Joestar, after all it's your grandson.
In their fight, winner proved to be Avdol, making Jotaro step out of his cell. His mother hugged him immediately, and he frowned "You're pissing me off, woman!" He yelled and I flinched. How the hell could he talk like that to his mother? It made me cringe internally, my face dropping from my neutral expression. He seemed to notice my glare and me in general because he frowned even more, if that's possible.
"Who the hell are you?" He asked and pointed in my direction, clearly demanding answers. "I'm with Avdol." I didn't bother to explain, nor I wanted, i had already made my conclusions about this man. On the other hand, Holly seemed eager to explain my situation. "This is Mr. Avdol's daughter. Meet Y/n!"
She smiled sweetly wrapping her arms around his big one. "Get off me bitch." He demanded shaking a bit his arms and then giving up as the woman ignored his words. What's wrong with this man? Does he even know the word smile and politeness? Did they have an argument or something? Yeah, that was surely it because he was staring real hard at me, like I was the one who put him in that cell and locked him up.
"What are you looking at?" I asked mimicking his scowl. That seemed to bring him to his senses because he turned his head walking out.
So rude.
"Where are we going?" I asked the group in order to shake off that feeling of anxiety."Somewhere we can talk." Joseph answered briefly and we left the station, with destination a coffee shop.
