Unknown POV:
"She's getting closer, boss."
I cursed out and growled as I stomped around the room. My angered eyes searched for something to throw across the room and break. I needed to do anything that would calm my temper and make me more in control of my emotions.
I then took a deep breath before growling into the phone.
"You need to try to break her spirit. Do everything you can to accomplish this," I commanded.
The mongrel on the other line sighed.
"Well, the two people that matter the most to her are out of the country. We can't use them against her," he answered.
I glared at the wall and clenched my fist in rage. When I spoke, my voice was seething.
"If she gets ahold of that information, you're dead. In fact, we're all going to die. So, now you know that, get to work now," I commanded, ending the call. I let out a frustrated groan and ran a hand through my hair. "Damn it, I need to do something. She can't know that I am...."
My train of thought was interrupted when one of my subordinates entered the room hesitantly. They looked around before spotting me.
"Boss, the person that has the cure has been abducted. We think it's Hannah's doing," he said quietly as he looked at me warily.
"Fuck!" I roared, sweeping my hand across the table and scattering everything. I then recomposed myself and spun to face him. "Take me to the dungeon."
He nodded and we walked out of the room. We moved down the stairs and into my favorite chamber, which smelled of coppery blood and fear, and I could hear the sounds of the prisoners' tormented screams.
I stormed up to the person who started all this and slapped them with all my might. They fell to the ground, but I didn't care. I was too angry. I glared down at them with hateful eyes.
"She's getting close, bitch, so I'll kill her!" I roared at at the top of my lungs, the room shaking from my fury.
Hannah's POV
"Honey, I'm home!" I yelled.
"Yay! Mom's back!" yelled my little angels.
In no time, they wrapped their little arms around my waist, and I knelt to place a kiss on each of their cheeks.
"Mommy, daddy's in the kitchen," Mariel said, and my eyes went to her, noticing that she was covered in flour.
I giggled.
"What happened to your face, baby girl?" I asked, pressing a finger to her cheek and wiping away a streak of white flour.
She smiled sheepishly.
"Well, Daddy was showing me how to make cupcakes," she replied excitedly, her eyes sparkling as she smiled.
Leo was unusually quiet.
"Okay, go to the kitchen. Let me have a little talk with Leo," I said to Mariel while placing a kiss on her forehead.
"Okay, mummy," she replied, wrapping me in yet another hug before running off.
I led Leo into the living room and we sat down on one of the couches. I then gave him a concerned look and wrapped an arm around him.
"What's wrong, my love?" I asked, staring at him with worry etched across my face.
"A man came to our school today for the two of us, and at first, we thought it was Dad or Uncle Owen coming to pick us up, but when we saw this man, I didn't recognize him. However, the teacher said he has Mariel's eyes. He just looked at us before he left the school," he explained.
