Hannah's POV
I believe in God, but all the pain I've gone through is making me lose faith with each passing day. People testify of His goodness, but who am I to complain? God is real; He saved me sometimes, or maybe every time. Life comes with pain, sadness, mourning, and happiness. We need all those things to pull through.
Everybody knows my name, and there are plenty of good and bad comments. But I just long for someone to treat me like an ordinary person, but maybe that's the price of money and fame. I don't fucking care; the only thing I want to feel is numbness.
People are quick to say I have so many flaws, but that's what makes me human. So, don't look at me with pity in your eyes because that hurts me.
"Bastard, failure, that is what you are, bad luck! I still regret the day I gave birth to you," said the person who gave birth to me.
Why does it seem like everyone is out to abuse, accuse, and maltreat me? Why? I'm sick and tired of all this. Those were the thoughts going through my mind.
I'm currently at my grandparents' house, but Monica is glaring at me. She pointed a finger at me and her eyes narrowed.
"Where did you take my mother? Did you kill her the same way you killed your father? Answer me, bitch!"
"Mom, that's enough," Kelvin, the golden boy of her life, scolded.
She turned to him, her dark eyes blazing with anger.
"Kelvin, don't you dare defend her. She's not worth it. This wench here doesn't deserve my affection, so stop defending her and tell me where she took my parents. I want to know," she said while demonstrating her point.
So, I answered her.
"Relax, Monica, they're safe. They're in one of my safe houses in Germany. They said they wanted to enjoy their vacation away from the hustle and bustle of LA," I said blankly like I was a robot.
That was actually a lie, but a girl's gotta do what she's gotta do to protect the only parental figure in my life. Besides, Monica is a suspect; my instincts don't trust her, maybe because she abuses me. But it doesn't feel good; I'll look into her case later.
"Here she goes, always zoning out when we're having a conversation," Monica said with a scoff.
Her words set me off, and I growled at her.
"Listen here, Monica, I don't really know why you hate me. Sometimes it feels as if you have a secret. I don't really care because everyone has secrets, but don't let yours be a secret that's going to make me release a bullet to your heart and watch life zip out of your eyes. Be careful because this is the last time I'm going to let you abuse me, make a mockery of me, laugh, and spread the nasty rumor to everyone that I killed Dad. But both of us know the reason he died is that you always cheated on him, for God's sake! The only mistake the man made was to love you..."
She glared at me and the next thing I felt was the sharp stinging of the slap she threw across my face. I felt it coming, but I didn't see it.
"You lying bitch! I always loved my husband; I never cheated on him. So quit the bullshit... It's not going to work," she answered with venom.
I fumed up at her, rage-twisting my features, and pointed a finger at her. When I spoke, it was in a soft but threatening tone.
"The next time your filthy hands touch my face, that will be the last time you ever touch anything." I masked all my emotions. "You and I know that I don't make empty threats."
"Are you threatening me, bitch?!" she yelled while pointing at herself.
I smirked at her before facing my brothers.
"Yes, I am. Now, this conversation is over. Kelvin, and Cole, I called you both because you guys are in danger. So be careful with what you eat and who you hang out with. I'm going to assign my guards to each of you," I said, taking a deep breath into my lungs.
The twins shot me confused looks.
"Are you going to tell us what's going on?" Kelvin eventually asked.
I shook my head.
"It's better that you guys don't know what's going on. For your own safety. And next time, when the Queen is speaking, always let her finish."
Monica rolled her eyes.
"Why, so that you can spew commands as if we are your own puppets?"
I was getting so sick of her being disrespectful to me. My dark eyes went to her and sent her a steely glare. I had warned her, but it hadn't been enough.
"The next time you interrupt me, Monica, you'll visit the dungeon, do you understand? Enough is enough. And if you continue to interrupt me even after that, you'll find yourself on the ground with a bullet in between your eyes," I said, removing my silencer from my coat and pointing it at her to drive the point home.
She better watch her words carefully if she doesn't have a death wish. Apparently, she doesn't because she eyes me fearfully and takes a step back. Very good, bitch. I thought, returning my gun to my coat.
Kelvin and Cole didn't even flinch or try to defend her. She was on her own. And she knew it.
I gave them a curt smile.
"All right, that'll be all, ladies and gentlemen. I'll take my leave now."
Monica didn't say a word, but I exchanged respectful nods with Kelvin and Cole before I turned on my heel and left. I was done with them.
