Hannah's POV

Ever since I killed Corey and reclaimed my throne as Queen of the supernatural world, life has been pretty normal. For most people, it's considered a good thing. But for me, it's not really a good thing. It has made me very wary. So, that's why I decided to take my family on a vacation, which was more of a distraction.

Damien has been avoiding me and refusing to talk to me about everything that transpired that one horrible night. But I've also noticed something else too—silent admiration and respect. I had never wanted to involve him in that aspect of my life, but he insisted on being part of it every step of the way, and who am I to deny him?

I just hope he doesn't come to regret his decision.

In the meantime, I was on the phone with the doctor, talking about my Nonna's condition.

"The poison was flushed out of her system and she's getting better," the doctor said, sounding very relieved.

I breathed a sigh of relief. It sounds like my Nonna was going to be okay. I just hope it stays that way, and soon, she will be out of the hospital and back to her normal life.

"All right, doctor, thank you. Continue doing what you're meant to do. But if she dies on your watch, remember that everyone you love will die with her. You know I'm not one to make empty threats," I said coldly before ending the call.

Judging by his reaction, I assume my message has hit home, and he will do everything in his power to make sure my Nonna survives.

Now, it's time to talk to my godmother. So, I began chanting, trying to reach her. She's mad at me, so I need to offer some sort of peace offering. The window of my bedroom opened, and the air shifted. It was starting to take on a human form.

When she was in front of me, I moved to embrace her.

"Hello, Mother. I'm sorry I made you angry, but I'm glad you're here now. I've missed you," I said apologetically, and I felt her warm, comforting presence relax me. Her hand started rubbing my back, and it soothed my tense muscles.

"It's okay. I forgive you. I've missed you more," she whispered. "What's wrong?"

Tears started filling my eyes, and I hid my face in her shoulder. She heard my tears, and shushed me, rocking me gently in her arms.

"I need you to help me. Show me what I need to do next," I pleaded, holding her tighter. I needed to make sure she wouldn't just disappear.

When she spoke, it was in a calm voice.

"Oh, Hannah, I know that you've married a good man, even though he's human. But there's something wrong with the thread that binds you two together. You'll have to fix that," she said.

Hannah nodded, willing to do anything to fix the problem between her and Damien.

Her godmother then continued.

"Also, the Monica you know isn't the real one. She's either hiding or locked up somewhere, so you'll have to find out and save her. And Corey is just a distraction for a bigger problem."

I rested my head on her shoulder, showing how drained I was.

"Give me a hint, Momma, about my life and future. I'm tired of walking on eggshells.

If not for me, do it for my children," I added, knowing the mention of my children hit a nerve.

She stared down at me, her gaze stern and unyielding. I returned it with a look of curiosity. She took a deep breath, sounding hesitant to say what she had to say.
