THE NEXT DAY

"you slept in HIS BED but not with him?!"

seulbyul sighed at the loud noises jeno had been making since early this morning. it was utterly annoying, for someone who just wanted to share her relationship progress with her best friend. jeno had always knew what kind of person renjun is, of course he was putting all of his interest about the relationship as well.

"we wouldn't go that far"

"how would you know that he's not in love with you?"

"he's not. i know" she mumbled, flipping her pancakes. he literally married her for the sake of his promise with donghyuck. maybe, he did like her but loving her? that was insane. the confession he made was invalid to her, since both of them were out of their minds. when people are desperate, they talk whatever they want without thinking about it first. that was what seulbyul assumed about renjun during that day he proposed.

jeno smiled, continuing stirring the cup of tea he made. he knew what he knew.

as if she knew how many times renjun had lost his breath whenever he told about her to jeno.

"you're home!" naeun ran towards seulbyul the moment she stepped into the house. the little girl gave her a hug, causing seulbyul to smile a little.

but there was something odd here. the house was clean, totally spotless. she knew that renjun was slightly a clean freak but the house has never been super clean. some furnitures were rearranged as well, but not too noticeable.

there wasn't any sight of her husband, why was naeun the only one in the living room?

"where's renjun, naeun?" she asked, placing her coat at the hanging space. naeun smiled, pulling her mother to the couch.

"dad says he has a special announcement for both of us!"

huh? that was odd.

"what announcement?" she asked again, but her mouth was sealed shut when she saw a figure walking into the living room with three cups of tea.

"you're home!" renjun gave seulbyul a warm welcome, handing her the drink. again, he was in his cozy outfit. the ones that could bring calmness just by looking at it. and his messy hair wasn't helping it either.

"so, it's not a family meeting, i swear. we never had one but it's just a mere announcement" renjun stood Infront of the two girls he adored so much, as naeun took a bite of her favourite cookie while listening to her father.

"i got promoted to prosecutor! and i also received a four days and three nights vacation at the DREAM RESORT for free! we're going on a family vacation tomorrow!"

naeun scream so loud as she jumped towards her father the moment she heard the announcement. it was a great news, to be honest. everyone loved vacations.

but seulbyul, she was confused rather than excited. she had a lot to process at a time. renjun got promoted? They're going on a vacation? she will not be at work for half a week? did renjun just plan this out of a whim or what?

"renjun-"

"everything is fully planned, don't worry about the cafe. i have everything in control" he smiled at her, before picking up naeun.

"all you have to do is to be happy during this vacation"

oh, she wanted that as well.

it took them an hour to arrive at the said resort if renjun drove at his normal car speed. she didn't mind that, she never liked rushed rides. and when renjun put on soft and slow songs to listen, she loved that as well. one of the best things in the world is when your partner had the same taste as you too. how didn't she notice this when they were best friends?
