Back to the dating apps I go to. I mean I am upset that it did not work out with Connor but he was so dry to me and he was too far away anyway. I set up my profile and keep swiping on guys to see who would have the potential for my heart. It is now the end of September and I have matched with some potential men already but none really text me back. Except on this one Wednesday afternoon. I swiped on this guy because I thought he looked cute but I did not really read his bio before I swiped. I was walking back to my dorm room and I first see my ex-boyfriend and his friend walking. The dumbasses did not even hold the door for me. Once I walked through the door, I get a notification that Lawson swiped right on my profile. We had a good conversation on the app for a good hour before I gave him my Snapchat. He was so sweet and wanted to meet me already so he can see if we would work out. "So when would you like to hang?" he asks. "I do not do hookups sorry," I jump in. I know how men can be. They swipe right, talk to me, ask to hang but the reality is they want to get into my pants and then get mad when I say that I am saving myself for marriage. "I am not looking to hook up," he lied. "I do not have class tomorrow and I am free today since my professor canceled class," I reply. "How about tomorrow? We can walk across campus and just chill?" "I am fine with that," I reply. My roommate is doing my hair and makeup today so I kind of regret agreeing to see each other tomorrow. "Are you ready?" she asks me. "Yes!" I reply. We have the tv on and we watch "Criminal Minds" and she starts applying everything. "So when are you guys going on a date" "We said tomorrow but it looks like it is going to rain tomorrow. I will see if he wants to switch it to today," I reply. I am so nervous to see him because it has been a while since I actually hung out with a guy. I hope that he is actually a genuine person. It feels so rushed but maybe I need this in my life. I text him if we can switch to today and within seconds, he responded with yes. I told him I lived in the dorms and he can come to me since I have no car. "So we are seeing each other in an hour actually," I tell Ellie. "Perfect. I will need that exact amount of time. What are you going to wear?" "I was just going to wear a T-shirt and shorts since we are just walking around campus. Very casual" "Ah I see. Did you tell him that you are a virgin?" "Yes. I needed to set him straight that I am waiting till marriage so he does not try anything with me," She continues to do my makeup and then she goes to my hair. I have to do straight cause curls never work on me. As time passes by, my heart is racing and I am thinking that maybe this is not a good idea. Ellie is just about done by the time my brain finally feels confident again. I get a text that he is at the front door and needs to be let in. I grab my student ID and go down the door and I do not see him. Was he playing me? I text him where he is and he tells me that he is at my dorm room. I quickly go in the elevator and I am whispering to the elevator to hurry up as if it is a human and can understand me. When it finally opens up, I run like I am being chased and see him standing outside my door talking to my roommates. I run up to him and hug him and say hi. My roommates both have looks on their faces of surprise cause he is so hot and he is very tall. He said he was six foot one but he is like six foot 3. Maybe I have nothing to worry about.
