Chapter 12

After a long week Kurapika's heat finally ended, he's never felt so refreshed and well rested it's like he was reborn into a new body. Though the same couldn't be said about Chrollo who looked drained. Kurapika wanted to go out and celebrate they've finally mated.

They decided on a fancy dinner Kurapika wanted to go out to sort of show off. He decided to wear feminine clothing something he only did on a rare or special occasion. It was a beautiful white dress with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder puffed sleeves it was mid thigh with small slit on the side showing more of his thigh. He paired it with a pair of white pump heels. He didn't wear much makeup but he did love this shade of ruby red lipstick something that really popped out with his fair skin and hair. He also opted out in wearing flashy jewelry only a white choker and small silver stud earrings. Chrollo on the other had looked completely opposite to him all black suit his signature turquoise earrings as well as a black headband to cover his cross tattoo. He rented out a car beforehand as they stayed fairly far from the city.

The restaurant was lovely they both turned heads when they were seated and Kurapika was surprised to not feel that sense of jealousy and possessiveness, maybe because they two where freshly mated? He didn't dwell on that fact as he wanted to enjoy himself tonight. He'd never felt so at ease and happy I'm so long he wanted to savor the moment, he didn't even mind Chrollo spoon feed him his impossibly sweet dessert. Though it also might have been that red wine he had earlier. They decided on taking a stroll before heading back the night was feather peaceful, but of course all good things must come to an end. They where surrounded by group of thieves, Kurapika felt his irritation began to form, even though he knew he could easily take all them on he knew Chrollo was more than capable too. But that feeling began to form again, and how dare they! How dare they ruin his night! And how dare they threaten his mate! He was going to make them pay! But before he could even raise his fist Chrollo had beaten him to it knocking out two and scaring of the others, it all happened so fast. He could feel that anger inside him disappearing and replaced with an entirely new sensation. Chrollo his alpha his mate had protected him! He felt his face warm up he felt speechless as Chrollo turned to him he had that look in his face when ever Kurapika talked about Leorio. They decided to walk back to the car and call it a night. Though that night Kurapika repeated that scene over and over, Chrollo was always protective over him why was this time any different? He caressed his mates sleeping face, the more he thought about Chrollo about how he was a great protector always ready to provide for his needs how gentle he was to him. He felt that feeling deep down inside him ache with a need.

Though he didn't know if his body was ready for that need, he'll need to discuss this with leorio first before bringing it up to Chrollo's attention. He wanted to know first if his body was even capable before trying and getting his hopes up. Though he'll need to hide this from his alpha first he didn't want the other to think he was defective.

He called while Chrollo was in town doing some shopping before they left this area tomorrow. He asked Leorio if it was possible for him, though a part of him knew the beta doctors answer a part of him was disappointed. He told him it would be unwise to try as it could cause a lot of strain on his body and a possible miscarriage. That it would be better to wait another two to three years so his body can be regulated to a schedule. For now he prescribed some non hormonal birth control such a condoms no pills.  Kurapika thanked him before hanging up. He decided not sulk too much and instead start packing his mind started to wonder if this was even a good idea. He never thought his life would end up in this path he was against mating and being with Chrollo, what changed? He shook his head why is he doubting his relationship now? He's still doing everything he wanted just not alone. But still some part of him wonders if he's taking things to fast, maybe he should bring up the idea of family just yet, things might be good now but things can change in a split second he learned that early on. Marks fade over time if not reclaimed every few months. Besides it would be easier to get away without a child. He groaned, why is he thinking these things? What's wrong with him?! Why can't he just be happy!?! He needed to collect himself before Chrollo came back. This was something he didn't want to talk about. He already knew Chrollo disliked him being secretive especially if it was of his past, he just knew he wouldn't react well if he let slip his thoughts of leaving him. It often scared him back then on what he'd to to him but he'd convinced himself he had nothing to worry about. It makes him unsure of everything , it's best for now to take things slow and continue working on their relationship. Yet Chrollo would bring up that topic again, something Kurapika dreaded talking about, meeting his spiders. It's not that he particularly dislikes them maybe finally 'formally' meeting them again really solidifies their relationship. But he knew he couldn't avoid them forever especially now that they're mated. Maybe if he convinced Chrollo that they'll meet on his own terms things could be better. He finished packing, these things are much more complicated than they should be. This was going to be another long day.
