Julian and Lucas stood waiting for Maya and Riley to meet them. "You know, for someone who claims not to like Maya, you look pretty good." Lucas playfully bumped his shoulder.
"Look let's say I did have a thing for Maya," He started causing Lucas to smirk. "Nothing can happen." He concluded.
His best friend furrowed his eyebrows and looked at him confused. "Wait, why not?"
Julian hesitated before he let out a sigh. "Look, I was gonna tell you after the date but i'm going back on tour with my dad." He dropped the news causing Lucas' eyes to widen.
"You're leaving?" He frowned.
"It's not for that long." Julian reassured him. "It's just so I could take a break from the hospital stress and stuff." He explained.
"I get it." The Friar nodded understandingly. "I'm gonna miss you. It feels like just yesterday when we went on the subway together for the first time." Lucas smiled at the memory.
"Now it's a normal thing for me." Julian smiled at the thought too.
A stranger walked up to Julian with a smile. "Hey, can I have a picture? I'm a huge fan! I loved your song, 'straight from hell'!" The fan gushed.
"Of course." Julian nodded. "I'm glad you like the song." He chucked before he posed for the picture.
"Thank you!" The fan waved after the got the picture.
"You know, I think you moving here made you more humble." Lucas stated his realisation.
"Yeah, right." Julian scoffed. "What makes you say that?" He questioned but raised an eyebrow when he saw Lucas space out. Julian followed his gaze and his eyes widened when he saw Maya and how pretty she looked. "Woah."
"Even though this just happened, there are some moments you know you're gonna remember forever. This is one of them." Lucas told Riley as his jaw stayed on the ground.
"Check out Mr romcom." Julian teased causing Maya to laugh. He grinned bare teeth when he heard her laugh. "You think my jokes are funny?" He smirked at Maya.
"Maybe." Maya teased back with a shoulder shrug.
Once the train arrived the four walked on. "Well, this is pretty easy so far." Riley commented.
"Because we're already friends." Lucas told her as he and Riley sat down.
"You actually polish up real good." Julian complimented Maya, with a slight playful tone.
"You saying I'm usually ugly?"The blonde playfully glared at him before laughing. "You don't look to bad yourself."
"I know, shortcake." He winked, cockily.
"I don't want to jinx this but it's just like us hanging out at school. What could possibly go wrong?"Riley asked before Lucas nudged Riley, causing everyone's eyes to follow Lucas'.
Josh was sitting on the train with his tour guide before she got up and walked off the train after Josh's failed attempt of making her stay.
Julian sighed once he saw the look on Maya's face. "Go talk to him."
"What?" Maya looked at him confused.
"Go." He repeated, gently pushing her towards Josh.
After a minute or so, Lucas encouraged Riley to go comfort Maya.
"And then there was two." Julian chuckled before he sat down next to the Texan boy.
Lucas smiled at his best friend. "Things really won't be the same without you."
Julian smirked and cockily shrugged. "Of course it won't. I'm the life of the party here."
The dirty blonde playfully rolled his eyes before he turned serious. "So are you gonna confess to Maya before you leave?" He questioned.
"Dude, there's nothing to confess." The Parker repeated for what felt like the a thousandth time this year. "I just like how we can have banter, I like how talking to her is easy and I like how she's definitely a sight to look at and- oh." After he started to list all those things, he did realise he had a thing for Maya.
"Oh?" Lucas repeated with a smirk.
"Lucas, I don't wanna be added to the list of people who've left her." Julian admitted once he thought about the situation more and more.
"The difference is that you'll still be there for her. Even if you're not here physically." Lucas reassured him.
"I don't think she'll see it that way." Julian sighed as he shook his head.
"Why don't you find out." Lucas encouraged him. Just on cue, Riley fell into Lucas' lap before Julian walked up to Maya.
Julian playfully held a finger on his ear. "This is agent rockstar reporting back to base." He joked, referring to their first encounter where she called him a spy. "Eyes have been locked on agent shortcake."
"You're such a dork, you know that right?" Maya grinned at his antics.
"And not super hot and cool?" He teased with a smile. He then turned slightly more serious after a moment. "We need to talk."
"We do." Maya agreed with a determined look on her face. "Julian I like you." She confessed.
Julian gulped ever so slightly and he felt extremely guilty. "Maya uh- I'm-I'm going back on tour with my dad tomorrow." He told her with a small frown.
"Oh." Was all the blonde could muster out. Of course this had to happen the first time she actually liked a boy.
"I'll be back. I promise." He reassured her.
"Don't make promises you can't live up to." Maya sighed as she looked at him.
Julian gave her a weak smile before he grabbed his sunglasses out of his pocket and placed them on her face. "Now you look like a spy or something." He teased, recalling when she said the same thing to him.
"Who knows? Maybe I am." She quoted him, with a weak smile.
