Julian groaned when he heard his father's voicemail for the a thousandth time this week. He's been trying to contact Freddie but there's been no answer. He knew his father was a busy person but it seemed to piss him off a lot.

Lucas noticed his friends frustration and looked up off his phone for the first time in a while. "You okay, bud?"

Julian snapped out of his trance of annoyance and placed a big grin on his face, nodding yes. "Yeah man, who's caught your attention on your phone?" He smirked, knowing the answer already.

"Just texting Riley." A small blush crept onto his face causing his best friend to tap his shoulders, proudly. He found Lucas and Riley's weird relationship kind of cute. He hoped he'd find something like that one day.

"Atta boy!" Julian grinned, happy for his friend. His eyes then wandered and landed on Maya, when he noticed her without Riley he raised an eyebrow and began looking for the strange brunette. He nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw Riley there sniffing Lucas.

His mouth gaped open when he saw her walking away as if nothing happened at all. He watched as she smiled before Maya chuckled and pointed at Julian, letting Riley know he saw the whole thing.

He chuckled shaking his head as he stood. "I'll be right back." He told Lucas who nodded, not really paying attention to the real world in front of him. "Hey weirdo's." He greeted Maya and Riley.

"Hey rockstar." Maya grinned bare teeth while as Riley let out a quiet 'Hi' embarrassed that he saw everything that just happened before she went straight back onto her phone.

Julian raised an eyebrow as he watched both Riley and Lucas, barely a few feet away from each other texting. "How comes you aren't on your phone like Romeo and Juliet?"

The blonde just shrugged seemly. "Wouldn't really need to talk to anyone," She sent him a weak smile before continuing. "Plus, I don't like have a smartphone."

He noticed how she didn't seem upset about that like other kids their age would. Instead she seemed as if she didn't care at all which came to a shock to him. He personally wouldn't know what he would do if he didn't have his phone.

"Huh." He took mental note of that and nodded before turning around to Lucas who was still on his phone. "Lucas." He called for the boy but he was completely ignored. He playfully rolled his eyes before he whistling. "Come here boy!" He talked in a tone as if Lucas was a dog. Believe it or not it worked and the southern boy stood and started walking towards him, still not looking up. "There's a good boy!" Julian playfully cooed guiding Lucas to the classroom.

Maya laughed amused with everything that was happening in front of her before she dragged Riley was her into class.

After taking their usual seats Cory starts his lesson "You guys don't connect with each other. It's like you can't exist without these. You use emoticons rather than emotions. You're an unfeeling generation of zombies." He says causing Riley and Maya mimic zombies. "Stop eating her!" He exclaimed before Myzell walks into class. "You're late, Miss Myzell."

"My goldfish died."Myzell said flatly, trying to find an excuse to get let out of class.

"You see? This is what I'm talking about. Miss Myzell has clearly suffered a tragic loss. Yet, she does not seem in touch with her actual emotions!" Cory told the class.

"Excuse me? I am crying my eyes out. I'm gonna have to leave class early." Myzell walks out.

"Oh, she actually made it out the door this time." Cory said shocked.

"I actually made it out the door this time!" Myzell walks in again, just as shocked as Matthews.

"Dad, adjust and deal. Cell phones have been around for, like, ever." Riley told her father.
