A loud voice erupted on the speaker, startling most out of sleep, including me. A groan slipped out from in between my lips, my arms reaching beyond my head to stretch. I rubbed my eyes, the tired and groggy feeling so subsiding, while others seemed tired. I was ready, to be honest that was the longest I've slept coming from where I do.
"Hello everyone, good morning! We are now reaching our destination, get ready for your departure from the blimp as well as the next phase!" the voice came to silence, its booming energy still lingering
I slipped shoes onto my bare feet, cracking my bones as I stood, my eyes at an abrupt shut. The harsh light shined on my eyes, blinking a few times. Once my eyes had adjusted I scanned the room, seeing the others get acquainted with the same bright lights I had. We said our "good morning!"s, got our things packed, and regrouped at the exit. As I stood, I couldn't help but to get entranced by the view displayed within the window.
A bright light glazed my skin, my head turning towards the light. I sheepishly moved through the crowd, the group bleeding out of the blimp, soon flying away. The remaining people sectioned off to different parts of Trick's Tower, the others and I standing at the edge.
"Do they expect us to climb down a tower this high, nobody could?!" Leorio exclaimed, petrified and confused
"Maybe for you guys, but i'm a professional rock climber" I guy spoke from behind us, beginning his way down the building
He began to speed-climb down, a shocked expression covering our faces.
"Woah, look at him go!" Gon said, Leorio replied, "yea! He's really good!"
A screech echoed throughout the sky, our heads turning towards the source of the sound. Six legged flying beasts flew towards the man causing a scream to be let out by his last breath. One scooped him up in their mouth, his muffled cries becoming nothing but a part of the wind.
"Guess we're not climbing down" Killua said with his hands in his pockets, turning to face the crowds as we did
"Is it just me or are there less people here?" i spoke, looking around
"Yea, where is everyone?" Gon replied, looking around with me
"They couldn't have climbed down, there must be a secret entrance" kurapika concurred
As we looked around I strayed away from the group, investigating an area we hadn't before. I took a step, then another, the ground soon lifting up from under my feet. I yelped, falling through the floor. The wind brushed through my hair, the ground coming closer. I landed on my feet, my hands lightly brushing up against the floor to stabilize myself from the fall.
My hands went to my pants, slightly brushing them off. I attempted to recognize where I was but to no avail. Watches were presented, six to be exact.
'I guess i have to wait now' i shrugged while saying to myself, making myself comfortable in a corner of the room
The silence and darkness engulfed the room, a dim light trying to light up the atmosphere. I leaned my head back, stealing breaths into my mouth as the loneliness hit me. I brought my legs to my chest, my finger gliding over the skin that rested upon my arms. My neck gave out, falling in between my kneecaps. My head lifted, my chin now taking the place of where my forehead used to be. The dim light now had help as a light bled through the ceiling, familiar figures dropping onto the ground below. They all looked into the corner, my eyes staring back at theirs.
"Y/N! We thought we lost you!" Gon squealed, running over to me
He kneeled down, wrapping me within his tight embrace of a hug. I snaked my hands onto his back, hugging him as well. He began to choke me within the hug, causing me to continuously tap his back with the palm of my hand.
"Gon, she can;t breathe!" Leorio shouted, pulling Gon off me like a dog being pulled on a leash
"Oh, sorry Y/N! I've been told my hugs are tight, im just so happy so see you!" he smiled at me, helping me off the floor
"I thought you died or something" Killua joked, i punched his arm, giggles leaving me mouth
"Watches?" Kurapika asked, turning my attention to him
"There are six, so I think we have to wait for another person" i expressed, showing him all the watches
"Hmm, it would appear so" he replied to my analysis
As time passed the boredom in the room grew, causing occasional sighs. A light showed down into the room, glistening in our eyes. A fat man fell from the gap, falling on his face. He grunted, groaning while rubbing a bump that had formed on his head.
"TONPA?!" we all shouted in unison, sweat-dropping
"Lets just get this over with.." Leorio grunted, the six of us slipping the watches on our wrists
"Hello!" a voice spoke, Leorio replied, "who the hell is that?!"
"My name is Lippo, I am your examiner as well as a prison warden. You must use the watches as a majority rule, so work together. Good luck!" Lippo ended, the intercom going quiet
After a while of foolish argument on what to vote we did, with one being odd from the other votes, a click signaling we all made our decision.
"Huh?! Who voted for the other one!?" Leorio screamed, "Sorry, that was me.." Tonpa said, rubbing the back of his nape with an "apologetic" face plastered
Leorio grabbed the collar of the man's shirt, yanking him off the ground.
"I should just kill you right now" he muttered, faces almost coming to a close
"Aww, are you gonna kiss me?" Tonpa replied in a snarky tone, causing Leorio to throw him back
"Guys, there isn't use in fighting, the door is open." Kurapika spoke softly but strictly, breaking up the fight as I just rolled my eyes at the nuisance of the commotion
I buried my hands deep within my pockets once again, walking into the open pathway as the others walked by my side. Silence clung like clothes to bodies on a hot day, the same hallway repeating.
"Wait..did that examiner say prison warden..?" Leorio pondered nervously out loud to which I replied with a shrug
We all continued to walk down the dark and long hall, a lit room coming into view, chasing away the darkness of the hallway. The group picked up pace, eager for the next task to complete the phase. The door closed behind us, the lights shining on us like celebrities with paparazzi.
"Welcome! You will be fighting prisoners, try to beat them as quickly as you can. The longer they stall you the shorter their sentences become, so their goal is to literally waste time. Good luck bearing your opponents!" Lippo instructed, talking loudly
I am ready to face my challenges and improve myself; go from beginning to end with devotion. I am ready to win.
