(Era of Freedom IV) Ruins.

A calming lullaby can be heard coming from the walls of the Ruins. Frisk follows Toriel, holding her hand tight. She takes her through the Ruins, teaching Frisk all about the place and evading dangerous traps that were set years back. All of a sudden, Toriel gets a call on her phone. She tells Frisk it's urgent and leaves, rushing towards her destination. Frisk is left alone.

FSK: Wait, she forgot the phone... shit.

She sits down and leans on the wall beside her, and after a while of waiting, gets the courage to get up and walk. Frisk traverses through the ruins, avoiding the monsters that attack her and running for her life, until she ends up at a crosspath. She tries to step forward but bumps into something invisible.

FSK: Ow! What did I just bump into?!
BLK: Forgive me... I didn't see you there.
FSK: A ghost..?
BLK: I thought you'd be more emotional when you see one.
FSK: For some reason, this seems normal.

Blook and Frisk stare at each other for a while, before both starting to speak at the same time. They notice this and excuse themselves, allowing the other to talk first.

FSK: You first.
BLK: I was gonna say you seem lost. Mind if I show you the way?
FSK: Of course! (Phew! I'm saved!)

Blook continues down the road and phases through a wall, going a bit further then remembering that Frisk is a human. He returns, excuses himself for the mistake and carries on showing Frisk the way towards Toriels' home. They chat whilst walking.

BLK: My fault, I didn't get your name earlier.
FSK: My name's Frisk.
BLK: And your last name..?
FSK: I'm not sure. My mom ran away from her family and then had me. She never spoke about my father and my grandparents.
BLK: I feel sorry for that. Must've been a rough childhood.
FSK: It was alright. Mom did all she could.
BLK: Then why did you come here?
FSK: W-what..?

Frisk is startled by the question, and hesitates to answer.

BLK: Don't bother answering. As is with all the others before you, the answer is clear.
FSK: I feel embarrassed to admit it.
BLK: It's alright. Well anyways, this is your stop.

Frisk sees Toriel coming from behind a massive tree. She waves at her and turns around to thank Blook, but he's nowhere to be seen.

TRL: My child, I'm sorry for leaving you like that!
FSK: It's all okay!

Toriel takes Frisk inside their house and shows her around.

TRL: This is your room.
FSK: Wow! It looks so cool!
TRL: Please, rest a bit.
FSK: Yeah, thanks!
TRL: Oh, and what kind of pie do you like?
FSK: Butterscotch pie is my favorite!
TRL: Alright, rest now. You must be tired.

Toriel turns off the light and leaves Frisks' room. In the hall, she walks proudly since Frisk and her share the same pie interest. After resting for a good while, Frisk wakes up and gets up from bed. She sees a plate of butterscotch pie on her bedside table. It was too delicious looking.

FSK: Yum!

And not too long after, the plate was finished and Frisk let out a happy sigh. She left her bedroom and went to the living room, where Toriel was sat down reading a book. Frisk asks Toriel if there's a way to leave the ruins, to which Toriel replies by changing the subject.

FSK: Miss Toriel, I wanna know how to leave the ruins.
TRL: Why would you?! There's nothing good out there!
FSK: Please tell me how.
TRL: But you've got all you need right here in this house!
FSK: Please allow me to leave!
TRL: Child, stay here. I have something to do.

Toriel gets up from the chair and leaves with a serious look on her face. Frisk follows her down the stairs to the lower floor, where she finds Toriel ready to destroy the exit of the Ruins.

TRL: Child, return back to your room.
FSK: Miss Toriel, I appreciate what you're doing for me, but please understand!
TRL: I will not allow you to leave! Each child that passed through this gate met the same tragic end! Asgore took their soul and I can't allow the same to happen again!
FSK: Miss Toriel, sorry but I have to.
TRL: Then you'll have to get past me first!

Toriel summons multiple fireballs and sends them in Frisks' direction.

FSK: (They don't hold malicious intent. She's not aiming to hurt me?)

Frisk evades the fireballs. Toriel raises a wall of fire, which she surrounds the human with. Frisk slips through the gaps and lands outside the wall.

FSK: Please understand my reasoning!
TRL: I refuse to let another child die!

She raises her voice and unleashes a rain of fireballs. Frisk swiftly dodges the attack and runs towards Toriel, who doesn't put up any sort of defense. She gets ready for Frisk to strike her down, but to her surprise, a warm embrace covers her body. Frisk hugs her tight. Tears start flowing from her eyes and the fire extinguishes.

TRL: I see now. Please forgive me, my child.
FSK: It's okay! I understand why you would stop me!
TRL: But it was still too wrong of me.
FSK: No! You did something any good mother would do!

These words hit deep in Toriels' soul. She gets up and opens the gates, allowing the human to continue on. Frisk steps through, turns back and waves goodbye.

FSK: Don't worry too much about me! I'll be alright, Mom!

Toriel smiles and more tears flow from her eyes, as the gates of the ruins snap shut. Frisk enters a dark room with one small patch of grass in the middle. A golden flower spurts from the ground and screams at Frisk.

FLW: You moron! What are you doing?! You're supposed to kill them!
FSK: No, there won't be anymore killing.
FLW: You think they'll forgive you now?!
FSK: It doesn't matter if they do or do not. What matters is that they live happily ever after.

Frisk walks past Flowey, ignoring them.

FLW: Trust me, you moron! In this world, it's kill or be kill-

Something invisible covers floweys' mouth. He looks up to see Blook gently smiling at Frisk, but she doesn't notice. Frisk leaves the ruins.

BLK: Frisk, not Chara... maybe this time will be different.
FLW: Get your hands off of me! You don't know nothing, you pale freak!
BLK: Do you wish for each of your petals to be torn out?

Flowey shivers and disappears back into the ground. Blook dissipates into the air, with a subtle smirk. This time will be different.
