Olivia POV
The morning finally arrived and Xavier was still asleep. I believe he read himself to sleep, he said something about being prepared for the baby to grow and arrive but I'm still far from that.
I got out of bed and put on warm clothes before heading downstairs. I wanted to make breakfast for the family and to my surprise Xavier's mom was already downstairs. She was doing bible study by the look of it. "Good morning", I said, not wanting to disturb her too much. "Good morning Olivia" she said.
"I wanted to make the family breakfast, would you like to help? I know that you're doing bible study and if you wanna get back to that then I'll let you be". She looked at me for a short time before responding to me. "I'm still a little bit busy but I'll help you dish up and do the dishes. Don't worry about it child. Can I ask you something?", She asked me. " Yes ma'am", I said waiting in anticipation.
"When will we be meeting your family?", She asked me. The question wasn't what I was expecting to be honest. "I don't talk to my family and honestly I wasn't going to invite them to my wedding because I don't like my mom's husband and they both kicked me out", I replied. I never actually talked about it out loud and it felt refreshing to tell someone that. "I'm sorry that they did that. It's their loss because your wedding will be amazing and plus you didn't deserve what they did to you", she said. I thanked her and walked to the kitchen to make breakfast for the family.
Wow. My family. I never thought I would think that after all this time. I was alone for so long that I even forgot what that meant.
I made pancakes, eggs, bacon and juice. It didn't take long for everyone to wake up. Eve placed the plates and Xavier's mom dishes out the food, while the 2 brothers were keeping the baby calm. And oddly enough it worked. We prayed and started to eat the food.
Xavier held my hand and whispered that the food was good. I can't believe that this will be my forever person. We finished eating and I went to take a shower after. Xavier and his mom did the dishes together and they did nothing but laugh while washing the dishes.
I took a quick shower and changed my clothes. Me and Xavier want to depart today. He has work tomorrow and I don't want to fight with his schedule. He came into the room while I was packing our stuff. "Thanks for packing my things and yet again, thank you for breakfast it was lovely", he kissed my forehead.
"Are you sure you want to leave today? You actually look relaxed and today you didn't even fight your brother. I think that's surprising. Not only that but you look calm as well", I stated. "I see what you're saying but I just miss my laptop and office. Not only that but I have needy clients and they don't pause for the holidays but one of these days we will all spend time together again", he answered. I nodded my head and understood his point. He doesn't like being behind and I feel the same way.
Time passed and we said our final goodbye and departed from Axel's house. Thanksgiving was perfect this year. I fell asleep in the car and Xavier listened to the radio while I slept. It took a while but we arrived home. He took our bags out and I packed everything back into place, while we went to his home office to do his usual routine.
I stayed alone for most of the afternoon and baked some cookies for myself. I missed baking in my own kitchen. I started feeling lonely and oddly enough that was the time Xavier left his office and I sat next to him in the living room and ate some cookies with him. "These are really good. It would be better if they was a little weed in them", he said. We laughed together. That was a good suggestion but I can't do that because I'm honestly scared of drugs. To be more specific getting addicted to having a constant high.
"I don't know how to do that not only that but I'm expecting my love also you said you were quitting smoking", he nodded at me as a response. "I am quitting and also I know you don't know how to make them and to this day I'm still surprised that you've never smoked before but I get your reasons for not doing so my love". I liked that he gets me. I kissed him and went back to having random conversations about how life is going.
