What up! I was so stoked writing that last chapter. Right now I'm sitting inside my house, melting. It's like 95° out or something like that which is really hot for the northern part of the west coast. Maybe that's why the setting for this story right now is in the fall....

Everly's POV
We went to school a little early the next day because of Sam's mom and her murderous intent. However, halfway through the day, Sam developed a cough so bad he had to go home. From the creek water, I assumed.
If that was bad enough, at the end of the day as I started walking home (Sam's house), I heard someone behind me. Turning, I saw the boy with the unchanging white soul, Connor. He gave a nervous grin. "Hi. It's Everly, right?" I slowly nodded, being very cautious. "I...um....I was wondering if you wanted to maybe get something at Starbucks with me or something?"
The stammer almost made it cute, but I had a weird feeling in my gut. So I replied "No thanks," and kept walking.
He didn't stop there. "Please. If we go and you don't like it, you can leave and I won't bother you again. Please give me a chance."
I stopped and glanced him. Sighing, I gave in and said "All right. This one time."
"Awesome." He gave me another grin.
We walked to the nearest Starbucks, about two minutes away from where we currently were. He held the door open for me when we walked in. I paced over to a table and sat down, pulling out a spring and a few other pieces to play around with. Connor sat down across from me.
He motioned to the parts. "You do that a lot?"
"When I'm nervous, yeah," I slipped our before I could stop myself. I bit my lip in frustration."You're nervous?" He asked, looking amazed. "Whoa." We both looked down at the tabletop. My bag was in my lap and I fiddled with the straps. "So...." He spoke again. We both looked up. I shrugged. "I know, what music do you like to listen to?"
"Indie, punk and alternative. You?" I answered politely.
"Classical, rock and blues."
"Cool." I nodded with appreciation.
"Thanks.
We sat in silence again. "Sooo....." He tried to start. "I, uh, like your sweatshirt."
I looked down. I was still wearing the one Sam had let me borrow. I blushed. "It's....not mine."
"Oh." Connor's cheeks flushed with color as well.
I glanced up at him briefly. The sun reflected off of the table, illuminating Connor's eyes, which I noticed were very, very green. Suddenly I sat up. "So where are you from?"
He looked surprised at the start of conversation. "Oh, um, the east coast, actually. Massachusetts." He added, as if to remind himself.
"What brought you to Oregon then?" I wondered out loud.
"Well, my mom's a single parent. I never met my dad, he left when he found out my mom was pregnant with me. She got a job offer a few months ago. She didn't want to move, but she knew that to support both me and her that we'd have to move. What about you? Have you lived here forever?"
"Born, bred and raised," I replied ripping back in my chair and raising an eyebrow. "I've always dreamed of leaving this town and traveling to who knows where, letting fate take me where it will. You know the feeling?"
"Yeah," Connor responded, looking me in the eye. "I do."

After a few more minutes of talking, we exited the building together. I had to say that I actually enjoyed my time with Connor, to my surprise. Apparently he felt the same."I had fun today." He laughed and rubbed the back of his head, ruffling his dyed black hair. "So....do you think we could do this again sometime?"
"Sure," I smiled. "That'd be cool."
We stood there, smiling at each other like fools, until my watch chirped. It was five o'clock.
"Well, I better go. See you around." I hesitated for a moment and started walking down the sidewalk.
"Bye! See you at school!"
The corners of my mouth turned up, but wrapped my arms around me as if I was cold and pulled up my jacket collar to hide the smile. Should I tell Sam? I guess I'd see when I got to his house.
+ + +Eeyyy, what up! Ok I wasn't entirely sure what to do for this chapter. I've been busy with another book I've been working on for THREE YEARS and I'm rewriting it for the third time (ugh) but I want it to be formerly published so yeah!
I've been SUPER tired lately so sorry this chapter took so long to write. I graduated from middle school on June 10, and left for vacation a day later.
If she reads this far, Brittany, this chapter is dedicated to you and your fantastic writing! If anyone wants to check out her stuff (DO IT. DO IT NOW) her wattpad user name is: fandom_princess15 . She is freaking amazing, ok? If you're reading this, Brit, keep writing! I love what you're doing and can't wait to read the rest!
Write more soon!
