Steve POV
A little while later, after we had eaten dinner at the Curtis', I told everyone that I needed to head back to my place because I was exhausted and had a long day.

I mean that was true.
But I also didn't want to feel tired as hell when I met up with y/n, or the next day at school.

I got home and set my alarm to go off in a couple of hours, and then went to bed. I was actually really tired because the next second my alarm was already going off and it was midnight.

I guess I really did need that sleep after all.

I got up and quietly snuck out of the house, the last thing I wanted was my parents hearing me and waking up. I walked to our meeting spot and saw her in the distance. I smiled to myself, happy that I didn't have to worry about her not showing up.

Like she'd do that anyway.

"Hey!" She said excitedly once she reached our spot.
"Hey" I grinned at her, "I don't know how you're so cheery at this time of night" I laughed at her a little.
"Oh I don't know, I guess I was just excited to see my new best friend" she told me with a smile.

That beautiful smile.

"Best friend, huh?" I questioned shaking away my thoughts, still grinning to myself.
"Sure! It's not like anyone else around here is" she stated.
"Fair enough" I chuckled and we sat down into the dirt.

We stayed there for awhile just chatting away about our days, when I remembered what Soda had told me earlier that day.

I have to invite her over!

"Hey, how would you feel about coming over to a friend's house with me after school tomorrow?" I asked her during a break in our conversation. She raised an eyebrow at me, "what friend? Do I know them?" "Well sort of. All of the guys you've eaten lunch with will be there, and plus a couple others that I'll introduce you to. Would you want to do that?".

She sat there and thought about it for a minute before saying, "sure sounds like fun. Far better than me staying at home all night".
"Alright! It's set then! I'll come find you when school ends and we can walk there together".
"Cool" she smiled and me, and eventually we both got up and went back to our houses.

Y/n POV
I walked downstairs to grab my breakfast before I left for school, I tapped Josh on the shoulder when I met him in the kitchen.
"Hey Josh, I'm going to a friend's after school so no need to wait up for me at the end of the day".
"Thanks for the heads up" he responded while shoving a bagel in his mouth and looking around for his backpack. I grabbed it from the bottom of the stairs and handed it to him, "thanks" he replied and started to head out to the car.

I was so excited that Steve had asked me to hang out with him last night, I was a little nervous to meet his friends but since I had sort of met most of them already, I felt a little better about it.

"Is this the same guys you've been hanging out with?" Josh asked me during our drive to school.
"Huh?" I asked him, caught off guard by the sudden question.
"Sorry, that you're hanging out with later?" He asked again to which I nodded, "yep same guys".

Have you ever thought that when you're looking forward to something later, your day goes by slower than normal? I swear that was happening to me, because school could not have gone by any slower. It felt like I was checking the clock every half hour, when it had actually been five minutes. But finally, the end of the day did come and I met up with Steve outside.

"I'm excited for you to meet my gang" Steve said on our walk to his friend's house.
"Yeah me too, even though I probably know most of them already" I answered him, to which he shrugged and said "that's true".
