Agreement

Chapter 4.

A few weeks have passed since the deal with the mysterious wraith. Wukong was starting to get the feeling that maybe it was just a dream and it wasn't. He began to enjoy life with his beloved. Liuer's wounds healed quickly, but his eye was still disabled. The forest surrounding the mountain grew darker every day. The most dangerous was at night when blue mist was coming to the forest, which was a harbinger of bad things. The animals came to seek help from their king.
"Do you think it's related to this ghoul?" Liuer said.
"More like that. But at least the mountain is sealed with spells, so it shouldn't get in here."
"Will you fix it?"
"But what?"
"Your servants are counting on you to handle this case"
"Oh yeah"
"Is my great king afraid?" He said with irony.
"Hey! I'm not scared at all!"
"Then go and see what's going on in this forest, or I'll go."
"There's no way. You stay here. You'll be safe. Okay, I'm going."
Wukong went into the forest. Only now did he see how the forest had changed.
I'm not surprised they don't feel safe here, he thought.
The atmosphere was funereal. The king walked deeper into the forest. Where the trees had no leaves. Nothing was heard. The branches of the trees were covered with frost. Wukong shuddered. There were whispers. Wukong felt himself being watched. "Show yourself! I know it's you!" He heard a female laugh. The apparition emerged from the darkness.
"Oh.. Sun Wukong how nice of you to come by"
"What do you want?"
"I guess I should ask you what do you want?"
"Don't play with me! Your presence is ruining the forest"
"Ah, here it is.. well, I like it here.." she said softly.
"And I don't like it, and neither do the inhabitants of this forest," he said angrily.
"Well, it's hard, it's their problem, don't forgive it, it's your problem"
"You do all this on purpose!"
"Maybe?"
"Then why don't you use the favor, I'll do what I have to do and you'll disappear from my life"
"It does not work like that"
"Explain it to me"
"Now you want another favor from me"
"What?!"
"I resurrected your lover, that's one favor and now you want another... it's going to cost you"
"You're cheating!"
"No! These are just some of the many rules of this game"
"What game?!"
"Destiny"
"Are you kidding me now?!"
The apparition quickly appeared next to him.
"Then do you want me to leave this forest alone or not? Something for something."
Wukong sighed "what do you want?"
"Favor for favor. I want you to seal DBK and leave your staff."
"I will hot do it!"
"So I'm not leaving from here!"
"I can't trap my brother!"
"You can or you know what I'll break through your spells to your damn mountain!"
"You dare not!"
"Oh.. yes I dare!"
The apparition began to move away from him.
"Wait!"
The apparition stopped.
"If I do, will you leave this forest alone and disappear from my life?"
"Yes, but someday I will return... so you can pay your debt"
Wukong sighed.
Liuer will be angry, the king thought.
"Agreement."
"Then don't waste your time. My champion..." The apparition disappeared. The echo echoed through the forest. The king had a bad feeling about this. He returned upstairs.
Macaque looked at him gently.
"So what? Did you fix it?"
Wukong didn't want to look the warrior straight in the eye. He looked away.
"Wukong? Did you fix it?" The warrior's face darkened.
"Yes and no.." he said embarrassed.
"What have you done?" The warrior raised an eyebrow. "Wukong! Look at me and tell me what you've done" Wukong looked at Macaque and sighed.
"I met this apparition.. she said that if we want her to leave the forest.. I have to..."
"What?"
"Prison DBK and leave my staff"
"You didn't agree to that, did you? Wukong!"
"Unfortunately yes. Forgive me..."
"And at least he'll leave you alone in the end?"
"She said she'd be back someday."
"Well, we're screwed," sighed the warrior.
