Just Maybe Pt.7

Time flew so fast and now the twins are 9 months old. The little boy was named Jack and the little girl was named Hanna. They took their father's last name as expected. Y/N found a job that allowed her to work from home. It was a marketing assistant for a rather small company but they pay well. She is now able to save up little by little and is able to provide for her children's needs. Jungkook still sends her groceries every week and visits every chance he gets. Hoseok is also a frequent visitor in the apartment. He had been convincing her to move to one of his houses but she refused. Jungkook has also insisted there is no need claiming that he will give his apartment to her as a gift but she refused it as well. She explained that she is still trying to save up so that she can find a suitable home for her and the twins in the future. Both of them were againts it.

''Y/N please'' she rolled her eyes when she heard Hoseok's pleading voice. They have been civil to each other. It's the weekend and normally he stays the entire day with the kids.

''We've talked about this already.''

''I know, but it will be easier for me to visit them if you will live next door. I already purchased the apartment next to mine.

''I didn't agree to it, you know that.'' She cut him off.

''But I would love to see them everyday.''

She looked and him and sighed. She could see how doting Hoseok is to the twins. He had been a great help over the weekends. He would take over and would convince her to get her much needed sleep. He basically did everything, from changing nappies to preparing their milk. He was so hands on. Who would have thought that a very famous CEO would do such things?

''I know that but please, it's just too much. It is such a big move. I don't want to do that yet.''

''Well, if that's the case. Can I move in instead?'' he whispered softly afraid that she might actually hear what he's saying.

She just looked at him unable to form her words. She loved him still but she will never tell him that. However, it is hard to trust him and welcome him in her heart again. He is not asking to move in for her but for the twins. It is just that, she couldn't trust herself even more. It will be inevitable for her to have this delusion that someday he will love her back again like before. She will basically set her own trap and hurt herself in the end. This is the reason why she is unable to give in to Hoseok's wishes that easily.

''I'm sorry. I know I'm overstepping the line.'' Hoseok diverted his gaze and looked at the twins with lonely eyes. This is the result of his own doing. He left her alone and now he can't be with his family everyday.

''I know you are doing your best to be the best father to the twins. I can see that but I am just not ready for this kind of set up.. I'm not ready.. I don't know if I'll ever be. You are always welcome to visit and you know that.''

''I know and I am sorry. It's my fault that we have come to this. I will work hard and become the best version of myself. I will see to it that even after everything, my children can still see me as a decent father. I will work hard to have your forgiveness too...''

''I told you that I have forgiven you. It is just that I am still hurting. I am not mad at you either. I just need time and I hope you understand that.''

''I understand and thank you Y/N. I have hurt you so much but still you allowed me to be here. Thank you for letting me be a father to our children even if I don't deserve it. Thank you for giving me the most wonderful gift I could ever receive in my life. Thank you..''

After that conversation, both of them seemed to be more relaxed around each other. Hoseok often visits and would bring gifts to the twins. He had set up and account for them and gave her a card that she can use to buy their necessities.

The twins can sense whenever their father arrives and will make a fuss. They will only stop when they hear their father's voice and would instantly want to be held. They are getting bigger now so she finds it funny how they are giving their father a hard time holding both of them.

''Jack, Hanna, don't be too excited. Daddy can't hold you properly. Behave for daddy okay?''

The twins looked at Hoseok with wide eyes and started giggling. He ended up lying with them in the big bed they set up in the room and have been playing with them for the next hour.

She was preparing their lunch when she noticed that it became so quite. She turned off the stove and went to the bedroom only to see the three of them fast asleep.

It makes her emotional to see them peacefully sleeping like that. They looked like an ordinary family. A father playing with his babies on a weekend while the mother is cooking lunch. She had to stop herself from thinking that it will be them in the future. She doesn't want to think that it is a possibility for them. They can co parent yes. However, to live in the same house with  Hoseok and be a complete family is a far fetched dream.

''Y/N?'' Hoseok woke up and gently stood up. He did not forget to kiss the twins before he made his way to her.

''Are you okay?'' he asked.

She didn't noticed that she is actually crying looking at them. She was so lost in her thoughts.

''Yes, I'm fine.'' she hurriedly wiped her tears and faked a smile.

''I know that look, you know. You don't have to tell me but I am here if you need to talk.''

''Thanks.''

''Am I overstaying my welcome?'' he suddenly asked.

''No, no, I am glad that you are giving them time. Are you hungry?'' she tried to deflect from the topic.

''I am.''

''Well then, let's have our lunch before those two wake up. You need a lot of energy.'' She tried to lighten the mood.

He looked at the twins with loving eyes. ''They sure are a handful but I love it. They make me really happy.''

''Same here.'' she gently smiled.
