A young princess trapped within her own castle walls, discovers a secret passa...
I woke up feeling less miserable than usual today. Today, my Mom , the queen, has permitted me to take a stroll in the castle grounds, which had lifted my spirits for the day. My chamber is more or less a prison. Most days, Im confined to my bedroom and not allowed to step foot outside of the castle. I've lived within these walls my entire life. If there was life outside these castle walls, I would not know of it.
Mother insists that it's best that I stay inside the castle at all times as the outside world is dangerous. Well I for one don't see what could be so dangerous. But no matter.
Well, im past all that now. I've come to accept my fate. The only one thing rather only one who's been keeping me sane all this while is my chamber maid Grace. She has always been such a great friend to me. I feel like she understands how lonely I often am in this castle. She understands how I've been trapped, encaged like a bird who longs to sore into the blue tranquil skies.
Putting all of my thoughts aside, I decided to get ready for the day. Though I was more or less a prisoner of the castle enjoying luxury, I was still a princess and had a standard to maintain. Grace bought me a selection of gowns for today. I smiled at her warmly as she did the same. We both exchanged friendly greetings before she left me to wash myself and change.
The outfit I chose to wear:
I chose a simple sky blue gown pecked with tiny stars and moons.
Grace then came back to do my hair. I smile at her warmly. "You know Grace, you don't have to do my hair every morning. Im very much capable of doing it myself. Why do you still insist on helping me?" I ask her laughing. She gives me the prettiest smile and gently brushes my thick red locks. "Because your highness it is my duty to do so and I also quite enjoy your company"
"Oh please, Grace, do call me Rowena or Rena as you please" I tell her pleadingly.
"Alright, Rowe- Rena"I smile as she decided to call me by my nickname.
She did my hair:

I then stepped out of my "prison" and went to greet my mother, "like a proper lady."
"Good Morning mother" I greet her with a smile.
"Rena" she said as if to acknowledge my presence.
William La Rou, the queen's guard, seemed to be discussing something with my mother. Something very important. I managed to catch a few words of their conversation "Suitors...princess...political..tomorrow" , but I chose to ignore them.
Nevertheless, I was on my way to the palace gardens. The garden is simply lovely. This was the one place where I would always come as a kid, plop down by a tree or colorful bush, and read one of my many novels. I have always been enchanted by the gardens beauty.

I sat there and read till the sun set. From a distance i noticed a figure approaching me slowly.I squinted my eyes in an effort to recognise them. I was delighted when I saw Grace. I was just going to tell her to join me when she informed that dinner was ready. But I wasn't quiet yet prepared to go back to my chamber so instead I decided I'd spend more time in the garden.
"Grace do you mind if we eat here together?"
She looked a little a bit startled at my request but agreed either way for which I was grateful ."Of course Your High- ..sorry...Rowena"
Together the two of us dined and chatted . We forgot everything for a moment, all formalities were dropped. We didn't sit there as princess and chambermaid, but as two friends. Something I'd always longed for.
Third person POV
That day the princess had a peaceful slumber dreaming about the time she had spent with her chamber maid in the palace gardens.
Little did she know that the events that would occur the very next day would lead her to make new discoveries and life changing decisions in the next few days.

okay so that was my first chapter ..I think I have a plot in mind but im not sure. Y'all please point out any typos or errors! Suggestions are always welcome , like I said im not exactly experienced so I wldn't mind ideas AT ALL!
