Tristan's POV
I walked out of the Boy's locker room and headed to the gym hall. I was looking for my mate Ezra. We decided to meet up before the period actually started. We've been friends since preschool and have been hanging out ever since. Ezra and I met Harriette only a few years later. Back then, she was the new kid in school. The three of us got along pretty well and soon we became a "trio". Now all of a sudden we have this weird Redhead. I wasn't too glad about it. I mean I guess the both of us do have a few common interests, but thats all. I don't really see us getting along in the future despite the fact that Harriette and Ezra seem to like her very much.
While I was was standing near the equipment section in the hall I noticed someone walk out of the locker rooms, wearing a hoodie which was clearly too big for them. I watched as the person sauntered across the hall aimlessly looking clueless. Just as i decided to approach them, they pulled back their hood revealing their long, fiery, bright Red hair, it was Rowena...Speak of the devil-
So I decided to just stay back and watch her. She slowly walked towards A basketball lying in the corner of the hall and sat down kneeling in front of it, further piquing my curiosity. She stuck out her index finger and poked the ball with a perplexed look on her face. I watched as she traced her finger along the curves of the ball as if to examine it. What had she never seen a basketball before? She looked at the ball as if she expected it to fling itself at her. I quietly chuckled to myself.
Rowena's POV
I headed towards the locker room and changed into our P.E uniform provided by the school, which included simple blue shorts and a t-shirt. I also wore a my hoodie over it in an effort to cover my hair, which had been receiving more attention then I liked.
I walked into the hall expecting to see bows and arrows, swords, knives, spears etc. I was taken aback when all I saw were balls of different sizes and colours, a sort of net in the corner of the room, another net that was so much more larger which was spread across with the help of two poles on either side and a sand pit. What was all this? What were we meant to do with all these balls and nets?
I trotted towards a large, orange ball in the corner of the gym hall. I crouched in front of it, staring at it for a while before slowly extended my arm and brushing my index finger against the ball's rough surface. I concluded the ball was hollow by poking it a few times. What could such a ball be used for..?? Maybe a distraction device of some sort??
I heard the sound of faint footsteps approaching me. Before I could turn back to see who it was, I heard someone yell "Think fast!" and before I knew it, a huge black ball was hurling towards me. Instinctively I raised my leg kicking the ball away from my face. I must've kicked the ball a bit too hard. The ball hit a nearby wall with such force, that the impact deflated it.
"WOAH...YOU'RE CLEARLY STRONGER THAN YOU LOOK-"
"Tristan, I know you aren't really fond of me, BUT THAT'S NO REASON TO TRY AND KILL ME?!" I snapped at him when I realised it was he who threw the ball at me.
"Jeez, chill out . A ball can hardly do any damage."
I scoffed and was just about to leave when he spoke up.
"sorry..I didn't think" he mumbled looking down, his hands in his pocket.
"I didn't think you would be the type to apologize " I remarked sarcastically.
"There's a lot you don't know about me" saying that he walked out of the hall and into the boys locker room.
I smiled to myself and resumed exploring the gym hall till the teacher and the other kids came.
