Harriette's POV

School opens in a few weeks, so mum and I decided we'd surprise Rowena by enrolling her in AZ and buying her school supplies before she wakes up. We wake up at around 6am and and rushout of the house.

Rowena was enrolled in no time, without a hitch. The principal, Mr. Wetherbee didn't need much convincing, as there weren't much students in AZ  due to Azarah being a petite town.  Next we went to purchase textbooks from the book store right next to the school building. The bookstore wasn't very huge but it was cozy and a greatly used hangout by the nerds in our school.

I picked out a Deep green coloured backpack for Rowena, anybody who knew her even for just a few weeks was bound to know that her favourite colour was green.

After we were sure we had purchased all the required assets we decided to head back home. It was already 8am. Rowena would usually get up at around 9am on regular days, so we had about 1 hr to reach home if we wanted to surprise her.

Rowena's POV

I was sleeping serenely when I heard  the soft jingling of keys coming from downstairs. I had very sharp hearing, which had proven to be quite useful on several occasions. I slowly tip-toed out of the room, and downstairs into the living room.

The jingling of keys only seemed to be getting louder outside of the main door. I knew it wasn't a great idea keeping your spare house keys under a doormat outside, anybody could happen to stumble upon them and easily break in!

I quickly grabbed what was closest to me, a baseball bat in this case and carefully approached the door, waiting for it to open. I positioned my bat and was ready to strike.

"JESUS ROWENA WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING SWINGING A BAT LIKE THAT IN YOUR PAJAMAS?!" Marry exclaimed, startled by the unexpected welcome.

"Oh my god Marry thank goodness It's you!"

"Well then who else would it be dear child?" I saw Harriette behind her mother snickering.

"I heard a sound from outside and I thought somebody was breaking in-" I tried to explain, realising how stupid I sounded.

"Rena we aren't living in a war zone you know?"  Harriette joked.

"Anyway, we have a surprise for you."

"Me? You have a surprise for me?"  I beamed.

Marry's POV

During the time Rowena had been staying with us, I'd noticed she was extremely cautious and aware of her surroundings, she almost never let her guard down. That was one thing I really admired about her. She was only 16 and she was already responsible and no doubt very independent and capable.

Ignoring the fact that Rowena almost was about to knock me out cold with a  baseball bat , the three of us sat together in the living room and  showed Rowena what we'd got her.

Harriette started off by telling Rowena that we'd enrolled her into AZ. I could tell she hadn't expected that. She looked delighted.

I watched as her face lit up seeing her new backpack, which she liked the most, her textbooks and just about everything else. I wondered if she'd ever been to school before. I try asking her about it, but she simply brushes it away and says that she used to be homeschooled before her parents had died which was a long time ago.

Third Person's POV

Rowena had definitely not expected any of that, but regardless she was very happy she'd be able to go to school next week and perhaps make new friends. Harriette was excited to introduce her to her friends at school.

The girls rush upstairs and together they discuss how fun the new school year was going to be.

Harriett's POV

I couldn't believe Rowena would finally be going to school with me! She'd never been to school before, and I was determined to give her the best High school experience ever! I can't wait to introduce her to the gang. I have a feeling she's gonna fit in just fine...
