Tears were leaving bad-looking dotts on the postcard, but James didn't care. He even wouldn't have cared if someone would have pointed a gun to his head and told him to burn the letter, he wouldn't have burned it. He never would. It was the only thing he had left of Regulus. Literally, because Regulus had taken everything.
He was a dickhead and nobody disargees.
He thought Regulus was in France. He hoped Regulus was happy in there - with out him. But it didn't help that he felt so guilty and dumb. Why did he treat Regulus like that? What the actual fuck was wrong with him? He wouldn't even ever get the chance to apologise.
Stupid, stupid, stupid...
Could he write a letter? Yes.
Dear Reg,
I'm sorry. There's no other way to describe how I feel. I just feel guilty, dumb and sorry. It's all my fault and I apologise. I never should have went with Tom. I really fucked up this time, didn't I? Even if we will never see again, I hope you will have a good life, even if it's with out me. I'm not going to come to look for you, as you wish. But I want you to know, that it wasn't the James you know, doing it. I was drunk. I know it's not an explanation, but I want you to know it. And if you change your mind, and will forgive me one day, I will leave the world for you.
But I guess it is the final goodbye, like you wrote.
So, Goodbye.
Forever yours,
James F. PotterHe ran to Sirius' house. When the door opened, he sprinted inside. "Next time you go visit Regulus, could you bring this to him, please?" James asked. Sirius seemed to hesitate. "I don't think he wants to read that" Sirius said. "Give it a chance. Please Sirius" James begged. Sirius sighed. "Fine" he said. James hugged him. "Thank you!"
