JAYDEN BACKED away from the kitchen cabinet when she heard her phone vibrating on the counter, a familiar name showing up at the screen made her heart hammer against her chest.

"hey, cutie. what's up?" jayden said, trying to keep her composure as she sat on the counter and toyed with the knife holder. she looked back at the screen, noticing gracie seemed to be in L.A still, even though she was supposed to be landing in new york in four hours or so "you're still in L.A?" she asked with furrowed eyebrows.
the older girl kept quiet as she made her way towards the airport bathroom and locked herself in a stall before letting out a loud, shaky breath "jayden, everything went to shit!" gracie whisper-yelled, her voice wobbly as she spoke.
"hey, calm down, okay?" jayden said once she noticed the camera shaking slightly, probably from her friends trembeling hand "what's goin' on?" she asked calmly.
"i lost my fucking flight! i -- i slept in, olivia and conan are in new york already and i'm -- i'm all alone in this huge ass airport, jayden, i don't know what to do! i lost my hotel check-in and i'm being charged, i don't i can stay there anymore." she had her head in her hands now as spoke hysterically, her uneven breathing worrying jayden through the screen.
"okay, okay, keep calm. breathe, it's not the end of the world, we're gonna find a solution" she tried to calm the girl down "do this, breathe in, then hold your breath for like 5 seconds and breathe out. do it five times, can you do that, g?"jayden sighed in relief when the girl nodded at the other side of the line, doing as she instructed.
"two more times, come on, you can do it" she encouraged.
gracie seemed calmer as her breathing started to normalize once again, she used the back of her hand to wipe a few tears that ran down her cheeks "feeling any better?" jayden asked with a smile that widened just a little when the singer nodded, leaning her head on the wall behind her "don't freak out, okay? i'll find you another flight right now"
