EVERYTHING HAPPENS for a reason. that was what jayden used to repeat in her head whenever things got tough to deal with. whenever life was too hard too handle. her mom's dead? everything happens for a reason. she moved to the US? everything happens for a reason. she met the most incredible girl in an unexpected way and fell in love so fastly it should be considered disturbing? everything happens for a reason.

the universe has mysterious ways. it has plan, maybe you don't even notice it but it does, and that plan is always at constant work. always happening. all at once. jayden felt both lucky and cursed that the plan to get her and gracie together had been the rollercoaster it had been. one different move, a different road she crossed, a different audition she took and maybe she wouldn't have met gracie at all. that thought always brought a frown to the latina's face.

she had met her just maybe a couple years ago, in fact, almost two and she had become so quickly attached to that woman, even she sometimes doubted how much she fell for her in so little time. she was sure she's never felt this way before. and she almost screwed it up.

for the last week, jayden had been nothing but the sweetest most amazing person anyone could ask for towards gracie. making breakfast every morning, taking her out on fancy dates, doing even the tiniest things to let gracie know how sorry she was for all the time thrown away and the things she said to her when they reunited.

she stuck her hands into the pockets of her jeans, looking at the jewelry behind a glass wall, bouncing her weight from one side to another.

"here it is, ma'am" the man with a funny mustache placed a dark blue medium box on top of the glass counter, "that'll be $4.500,00"

"yeah, just charge it into my store card" she said waving it off and taking the bag in which the box had been placed.

"yes, ma'am, thank you for your preference" the man smiled kindly, jayden doing the same before leaving the store in rapid footsteps.
