I know a lot of people think Kyman is one-sided on Cartman's end and that Kyle doesn't like Cartman and only Cartman likes Kyle. But I'm about to blow your mind with this. I used to think this too, in fact I used to not even like Kyman and thought it was stupid until I saw the evidence and looked more into it. But I feel like the season that really changed my mind and made me start questioning that Kyle is actually the one holding the heavier feelings was in s20 with the whole Heidi drama. I know in the rivalry Kyle is the more hateful one, and Cartman is usually the one who tries more to put aside their differences to get along with Kyle sometimes, so that's why a lot of people think Cartman is the one with the strong feelings. But I think it's the other way around BECAUSE Kyle is the more hateful one. I think the reason why Kyle acts like he hates Cartman so much is because he's really deep in the closet and he's a really pissed off and sexually confused child. This is why Kyle is cranky 24/7 and gets irritated by the littlest things. Kyle is actually more in denial about his feelings toward Cartman, and Cartman is a little more aware of what's going on between them. This is why Cartman flirts with Kyle in subtle ways in certain episodes like touching him and trying to hold his hand. And another great example of this I think was in "Tonsil Trouble" when that guy said they were 'two brave lovers' and Cartman didn't mind the idea, but Kyle got mad. It's not that Kyle likes Cartman less, he's just further in the closet than Cartman is. I think Cartman's obsession with Kyle is a little bit more of an infatuation (which is why Cartman is always sexualizing Kyle and wanted him to suck his balls and literally has gay drawings of him in his journal) while Kyle is actually the one with the stronger romantic feelings. I mean in the moments when Cartman obsesses over Kyle it's always in this creepy way like he's possessive of him and wants him all to himself, and in the moments where Kyle is shown to care about Cartman, he just genuinely seems to care about Cartman's well-being and wants him to be safe and happy. I mean Cartman is a straight up sociopath, and we know how Cartman has a hard time empathizing and feeling for other people. So if anything it seems to me like Kyle is actually the one with the stronger feelings because Kyle actually does know how to empathize so it would make sense that his feelings for Cartman would be more pronounced. Kyle is just in denial bc he hates the fact that he's in love with someone who's a piece of shit like Cartman. But I mean this is why Kyle acts so two-faced with Cartman and he's nice to him when they're alone but usually shits on him in front of other people. He knows people will make fun of him if he likes Cartman, so it's Kyle's ego that's getting in the way and pretending to hate Cartman. I think this was actually the real reason why Kyle felt bad for Heidi when she was with Cartman, and he literally went to the girls DEFENDING Heidi's decision for being with Cartman telling them not to make fun of her. This was Kyle projecting, because he doesn't want people to make fun of him for liking Cartman.
