Cyno hummed a song, tapping his fingers like drums on the counter as his eyes were locked on the door in a half - paying attention manner.
Would the cat from yesterday evening be alright? Would Tighnari even come in today? Well.. . He hoped both would end up playing out in the end of this.
Cyno felt his heart lift as he caught sight of tall ears and a furry feline in the man's arms as the figure walked slowly to the door. His anxiety pretty much had dissolved in his stomach, and he jumped from behind the counter to the door and opened it for Tighnari.
"Ah, thank you, Cyno." He thanked, walking in, having to lean his ears back so they didn't brush against the doorframe above him.
Cyno observed that, and a small chuckle escaped his chest as he shut the door. "Of course. So, how is baby girl?" Cyno proposed, following Tighnari though going behind the counter instead.
"Well, this girl was doing pretty bad, but— As her wounds heal with healthy fur, and nothing matted to stop a scab forming." Tighnari sat in his usual spot, wagging his tail contently, clearly happy as he pet the now soft kitten before him.
"Oh, you were right?.." Cyno murmured, his grin lowering just a bit.
"Mhm." Tighnari grinned smugly, the kit meowing in agreement.
"Ah.."
"But, she needs a name! You were the person who found her, so, it's only right for you to name her.Tighnari offered, a glimmer in his eyes showing Cyno wouldn't have a choice in the end.
"I.. Uhm.. ."
"C'mon, there is no way you could say no to this little baby." Tighnari persisted, picking the furry creature beneath it's arms, offering it's idly pleading face to Cyno.
"Uhh, okay, if you, eh.. Insist. "He mumbled, audibly opening up to the idea a bit.
"Good! Now, name." Tighnari smiled brighter, tail fastening it's pace.
Cyno's eyes flickered on his face, an overwhelming warmth flowing over him as he felt his cheeks burn.
"Ah.." Cyno muttered, making it seem
like he was thinking the whole pause."Something about black maybe? Her eyes, her personality.."
"How am I supposed to know her purr-sonality? I barely even know hurr."
A blank expression if hatred was immediately shown back at Cyno to his poor puns.
"Uhm.. Black—"
"I refuse to put her into your care if you dare to name her Black."
"Oh.. Hm.. ." Cyno had to think, Tighnari was picky.. "Milly?"
"Milly??" Tighnari questioned, expecting more.
"Just.. Just Milly." Cyno murmured.
"She has to have a last name." He insisted.
"Seriously?.."
"Serious."
"Uhhm.. Milly Opal?"
"Yes, yes! That's good, see— You had it in you afterall." Tighnari smiled at him, speaking in a playfully annoying tone Cyno knew all too well.
"Uhuh.." Cyno looked back at him with a blank expression but still slightly reddened face.
"Well— I have another proposition including you and Milly." Tighnari spoke again, now offering Milly to Cyno.
Cyno took the offer, nodding as his eyes were on Tighnari, letting him know he could keep going. Cyno held Milly gently in his arms just as he did when he rescued her, caressing her carefully as she suddenly began purring loudly.
"Well— I'm going to be taking her in until she heals fully- Might snatch her up to stay too," He chuckled. "but either way. I wanted to offer you to help me take care of her for a bit. It'd be a way us to meet up outside of the café too!" Tighnari seemed genuinely happy as he spoke about the bit of the two together, and Cyno noticed that.. . Aswell as the fastening of his heartbeat and repeated feeling of burnt cheeks.
"Oh? I'd— I'd love that." Cyno choked out, his throat closing, he hated the feeling of nervousness that would wash over him when he thought about his genuine feelings towards him. He hated not knowing exactly what he felt..
"Okay! I can write down my phone number, and address. Tomorrow you can stop by after your shift and all that." Tighnari explained, grabbing a pen and notepad from the handbag he carried on one arm. He leaned on the counter and scribbled in neat handwriting an address and phone number with a little smiley face— Stating it was 'Tighnari's Infos'.
"Y-Yeah- Sounds good." Cyno nodded.
Tighnari ripped the page from the small notepad and slid the paper to Cyno. "Oh- Can I have the regular aswell? I need coffee today.." Tighnari asked.
"Of course- Just take Milly back as I get that for ya." Cyno agreed, the anxious feeling in his chest ebbing as he offered Milly back to him.
Tighnari took Milly, petting her gently as Cyno prepared his drink, watching him intently— Admiring his swift movements, feeling a burn on his cheeks and flutter in his stomach.. .
