'AND- we're finally out of the winter people!' Riff called as he came to sit on the 4th empty chair with his boba tea in hand. As they usually did, Eron was sitting to his right and Trek to the left while Ao-ki took the chair facing against the glass door of the Tower Cafe, in their usual table in the afternoon, barely an hour after the end of the school day. Ao-ki works there on weekends.

Ao-ki laughed softly. 'Yeah, Riff, we know you hate the cold'.

'That should only be half the reason to be glad winter's over.' Trek came in. 'The other reason is that spring break is right around the corner.'

'Yeah, that's another pro.'

The girl rolled her eyes teasingly at her friends' childish thoughts. 'Another pro is that kids don't throw snowballs and make a fool of you every time you get out.'

Trek agreed, 'Yeah, even though you come out like 3 times a month.'

The two laughed as Riff's face turned a shade of red almost as deep as his own hair. 'Yeah, I might as well lower it down.'

'Back to the pro side,' Trek stopped, 'I'm still taking suggestions on what to make for my mom's bakery this break.'

'Waffles, obviously,'

'I'm taking suggestions from anyone but you now, Riff.'

'Maybe something small and tasty that you can make alot of.' Ao-ki proposed. 'Muffins, what do you think?'

Trek thought about it for a second. 'Hmm, maybe. Eron what do suggest? Eron?'

The boy across from him snapped out of thought and took his eyes off the notepad he had in hand. The pencil he held stopped moving back and forth as he turned his attention to the others' conversation. 'Yeah?'

'Dude, you've been silent for 5 minutes straight.' Riff smirked. 'Did those aliens you wanted to put in the newspaper last week abduct you or something?'

'What? No. First off: my idea was- unfortunately- rejected. Second: this does have to do with the schools newspaper.' He put the notepad on the table. On the page was written: Interview. Name- then nothing else.

'I'm supposed to interview someone from the local area for the back page. I need to pick someone interesting and note-worthy.'

'Woah, that seems like quite a bit of work.' Riff took the notepad, reading some drafted questions on the last few pages. 'I don't mind questions, ya know.'

'Actually, I was considering you,' he pointed at him with the pencil, '-to tell me some people I can interview.'

'Maybe someone from around the area of the school to make people invested.' Ao-ki recommended, ever the one for bright ideas.

'Yep, but not a teacher! Thanks for the idea.'

The group fell into silence, each sipping their drink. There was- oddly enough- no one else was in the cafe. It was usually crowded with people, but now, it got new competition around the city. Not that they just enjoyed having it quietly for themselves, but they were loyal customers for 2 years now.

Suddenly, the bell on top of the door rang. They slightly turned their heads to see the newcomers. 2 blond teens, around their ages, one a tad bit shorter with matching sports jackets. They must've been from sport club of some sorts.

'Yeah, Fylkir, you're still in charge of the subsitute goal tender. Enough on my shoulder that I'm in charge of you.' The shorter stated.

'Rude, since I'm older, and why me of all the other 10 people.' the taller- Fylkir- asked.

'Because you're the goddamn goal tender.'

Fylkir shrugged, 'Fair enough.'

As the two reached the counter, Ao-ki could make out the letters W.C.H, written in their school's font: Western Canada High (real school btw).

'Guys, I think they're from the school's hockey team. I've seen them around before.' She whispered.

'Yeah, I know them. Those are the captain and the goal tender, Ikor Anderson and Fylkir Clark.' Trek said, remembering his few weeks in the Hockey club before retreating to simply boxing. 'Forgot to congratulate them for winning the championship. I left the team 3 weeks before that.'

'Wait, they won that championship, right?' Eron asked.

'Yeah.'

'Interesting much don't you think...'

Riff put his empty cup down, 'You're thinking of interviewing them?'

Eron started fiddling with the pencil again, 'Well, not them. I'm supposed to pick one person only.' He turned to Trek. 'The captain guy is the shorter, right?'

He nodded. 'Eron, I'm not saying no to the idea, it's actually great, but that guy- Ikor- is also the son of the mayor Kori.' Ao-ki pointed out.

In a three seconds span of silence, Eron perked up, 'All the more reason to interview him!'

'Then you might want to go catch up to them now.' Riff pointed a finger at the large window opened at the street. Occupied with the idea, Eron didn't realize they already left with their orders.

'Ok.' He stood up swiftly and rushed outside the cafe, turning right on the sidewalk. The two were already quite a fair distance away.

'Hey, you there!' they heard someone call. Turning around, they saw a blue haired boy running towards them. Ikor and Fylkir exchanged a look as they came to a halt. The boy stopped in front of them, panting. 'Hey there!' he started almost immediately. 'Ikor and Fylkir, right? I'm Eron, we go to the same school. I'm part of the newspaper crew and I'm looking for a subject to interview for a page... if you don't mind.'

Ikor made direct contact with him for a split second, realizing that he needed a subject to interview. 'Wait me?'

'Yeah,' Eron confirmed. 'You're the captain of the hockey team that won this year's contest. I've got a few questions if you don't mind coming for a seat.'

'Well, sure I guess.'

Fylkir shot him a smirk, turning around on his heals. 'Well, see ya at home. Enjoy your interview, cuz.'

This pretty much an intro, next chapter just talk.
