Being unable to catch up with his own thoughts was not an unusual thing for Eron, and it was barely a bother anymore.

However, he really wished he could make some sense of all that was going on in his head during that 15 minute run to the station. Questions, explanations and possibilities alike were swarming around enough to give him a headache.

What if I actually broke it or put some fingerprint by accident?

These men have someone hostage...

The arms in that room are getting leaked and no one even knows?!

Can you even track another walkie talkie like a phone?

If they can, these guys might be after me now.

AAAHHHHHH.

Oh, next turn left.

Eron skidded to a stop at the door, practically shooting in as fast as possible. On second thought, that would've probably drew a little too much attention than he needed. On third thought, barely anyone were bothered by his entrance.

Officers were scattered around, weaving around from room to room, corridor to corridor. There wasn't a "crowd" but it was surely more people than usual.

Then, Eron spotted an impossibly familiar figure, body hunched over at the back of the room on a bench. Upon closer inspection, he could see his foot tapping at an almost inhumane speed, sweat running down his forehead. Brown eyes, surrounded by slightly reddened sclerae, were fixed at the floor beneath him.

Riff looked like he could jump out of his skin at any given moment.

As Eron approached him, he was further confused as the other only seemed to notice him right then and there, which is not very Riff-like, if you ask him. The other is usually alert and could hear him coming from afar. It did not help how loud Eron could be sometimes.

'Riff! Why are you here? What happened? Did-' he stopped dead in his tracks.

Now that Riff was looking up at him, Eron could see faint traces of something he failed to notice before.

Dried tear tracks. Tears.

The redhead was not currently crying but it was absurd to the younger. He had never seen the other crying, and never thought he would with that big ego of his and all the pride. But there he was, standing right in front of the person he considered sometimes his older brother, practically sensing the wetness of his eyes.

'Eron...' the other started, taking a moment as if recollecting his thoughts. 'You-' he stopped. It was clear he had nothing to say, waiting for the other to continue the conversation or leave it.

Eron let out a small breath, sat beside him and turned to face the other, more sincere than ever. 'What happened?'

Riff's dam broke.

--------------------------

The next three hours passed in a blurry flash. Eron couldn't quite recall whether his own interrogation or calling over their friends (and Aoki's brother) went first. Last thing there was James inviting them to his place in his car.

Now, Eron and Riff, along with Trek and Ikor now where all seated in the living room of the apartment, dead silent. James' voice was barely audible in the next room as he spoke on the phone.

Usually, silence eats up Eron inside out. But today didn't really fall into any of his "usually" scenarios.

That's when Trek, first to break from his thought spoke first. 'What are the odds this has something to do with Baru?'

Realization hit Eron like a train. Sure, he managed to pull aside an officer and tell him about his not-so-fun one-sided exchange on the two-way radio. He was pulled into a hearing of his own before he could tell even Riff of their earlier adventure. And the rest did not appear until after that. Which meant right now no one knew of anything.

Oops.

'Well... you see...' The blue-eyed boy started, quickly earning the other three's attention. 'Remember that thing we found on the site today?'

Riff's expression grew slightly confused. 'The two-way radio you mean?' Trek said.

'The one we clearly said to leave alone.' Ikor finished, his eyes narrowing a little at Eron.

'Is that what you went to do earlier?' Riff asked. He received a nod.

He let out an awkward laugh, 'So yeah, I kinda- borrowed it and took it home...' Eron paused before he continued, just to check the others' reaction so far. Ikor's face nearly screamed 'wtf' at him. Trek was much less annoyed and more focused on what he was gonna say next. Riff looked like the seat would fall apart if he didn't stay at it's very edge.

'I got to listen to these guys' conversation when they thought they were talking to "Baru."

The rest came spilling out. That one way conversation was enough to shake him for a life time. He did not miss a single detail. Heck he even remembers the names. The ones receiving the packages from Baru were Gredd and Cryptos. The one who most surely was the kidnapper is called Xathor and there was another named Crats. God knows where they got these names from.

'I accidentally turned it on and some guys were talking to Baru about leaking the weapons.'

'I am pretty sure he is acting like their middleman.'

'I was so anxious I couldn't talk and it didn't take them that long to find me out.'

'I know they talked about 'fetching' someone.'

It took barely a few minutes and for the first time in so long, Eron felt completely exhausted, not a bit of energy left. He was drained all through, not enough power in him to even think about this cursed day anymore.

Luckily, the other three now had the whole story and they can pretty much think instead of him. Eron really needed a break of all the thoughts.

As he slouched down though, he felt a strong grip come over his shoulder and lightly pull him into a side hug. he did not need to look up to know who it was, that is if he could. Eron only heard fragments of the conversation that continued afterwards as he began to drift to sleep.

I HATE writers block. I'd get all the good ideas and be totally unable to put them to work.

Might need some help though. Anyone knows how to write a serious victim-kidnapper scene? Not gonna say if it's for the next chapter or not.
