Me: Am I sticking to the plot too tight? Also me: Nah, this is going great!

The two sides of writing.

Trek was doubting the decision not to call the authorities for now.

It was a group decision made yesterday, when Ikor and Fylkir had pointed out a company building just out of town. That did not only only include them, Siran and Finna were there too.

Last time they did anything like this, it had taken a month for them to be taken seriously. But now, they all knew they weren't gonna let Aoki stay there a minute more, not if they could help it.

First thing in the morning, they were right in front of the building and it was huge. It definitely had more than 15 floors and was painted an elegant shade of black. The seven of them just stood in front of it, not sure how to proceed.

'So what?' Eron asked. 'We barge past the security and find her?'

'We don't know if she is there for sure anyway.' Finna continued.

'No,' Ikor answered, 'but it does have something to do with it. We're going to investigate.'

Riff, impatient as he was, just went forth immediately, 'Then let's go!'

He couldn't step in through the glass doors before a hand blocked him. Effectively pushing him back. Riff looked at the guard as if he was ready to murder him. Before he could say anything, Fylkir stepped up and showed the man a gold-trimmed card. Trek recognized it from last night, Fylkir had proposed they use it to get in during their planning. He didn't really tell them about it, but he mentioned it could basically allowed him to  go anywhere and Ikor just huffed in confirmation.

They were allowed in as the security man just glared daggers at their backs. Inside was a gold highlighted lobby, a few men in suits sitting around here and there. The atmosphere was not so welcoming, but they went in anyway.

Trek went to the back of the group as Ikor talked to a woman at the desk. He didn't really pay much attention to the conversation, even less when he felt a hand wrap around his right arm. His face slightly reddened when he realized who it was.

'Is it just me, or is it bigger inside than outside?' Siran asked.

Trek's eyes averted, 'Well, maybe, I guess...'

The two went silent, Siran's grip still on Trek. Man, he'd had this crush on her (or rather realized it) since they both started Junior year. He'd really take any chance he ever has to collect some courage and say something but-

'Um, hey Trek-' he was stripped from his thoughts by her, only then for the conversation to get cut off by someone from the group calling them. They were already at the elevator. Trek and Siran awkwardly followed afterwards, leaving it for later.

-----------

No matter how much Trek thought the place couldn't get bigger, it did.

They had went through all hallways and corners they could find, asking around for a man named Cryptos  Mhambi, who was apparently one of the highest ranked people in the company. Every person they asked would shoot them weird looks at first. Most did not even answer, and those who did, gave very vague directions and they all said different things.

They'd went from floor to floor, separated at a few points, and yet. They came out empty handed. More physically than mentally exhausted, they just decided to sit on some benches for a while. By now, Trek wanted nothing more than this whole ordeal to be over.

'13th floor, 27th time asking and an hour and half of looking for nothing so far.' Fylkir complained.

'You've been keeping count?'

Suddenly Riff stood up. 'We still have to do something. This place is still pretty big. We can find that guy-'

'That is one big black eye to remember.'

Riff paused as they all looked in the direction of the interrupting voice. Around the corner at the end of the corridor, two men who looked like part of the security were having a conversation. Seemingly, they did not hear them all the way from there.

'Seeing how much she was struggling, they definitely had it coming.' The other replied, 'Not that Gredd didn't deserve it.'

If Trek heard it correctly, that was one of then names Eron mentioned to hear on the two-way radio. The whole group immediately tensed up, somehow becoming even quitter.

'How longer do you think he's gonna keep the girl here?'

'Lemme give you a better one. Why is she here in the first place? We already closed that bondage business years ago.'

Footsteps began to get fainter and fainter until the men disappeared. No one reacted for what was almost a minute. Now Trek was seriously wondering what the fuck went wrong with their lives.

'She's here.' Riff gritted between his teeth, instantly standing up. 'C'mon, let's go looking-'

'Hold your horses, Riff.' Finna grabbed his shoulder. 'We need to think this through for a moment.'

'What if we split up?' Eron suggested.

'Yeah, we can cover more ground.' Riff agreed.

Ikor's frowned. 'I don't think that's the best idea.'

Fylkir seemed to go with it. 'Yeah. Siran, Finna and I can go ensure an exit while you four split to pairs and look around.

The makeshift idea wasn't the best, but for now, everyone seemed to agree it was worth a shot.

'We'll see you when you come back at 1st floor.' Finna declared.

In no time, Riff grabbed the nearest one to him, who happened to be Ikor, and rush down a corridor. Eron automatically directed to the other as Fylkir and Finna went through to the elevator.

Siran didn't.

Trek was about to leave too when he noticed it. First thing he dismissed was the thought that she was scared. Maybe concerned, but to be quite frank, Siran was one of the bravest people he knows.

'Uh... Trek?'

The brunette barely came to a stop before she caught his neck, making him lean down and kissed him. It was barely a moment, but Trek could feel his brain exploding to fireworks. Was that what she wanted to tell him.

A moment after, Siran turned around, muttered a quick 'Be safe' and went to catch up with the other two. Trek stood gapping in there, pretty confident he was blushing like crazy.

'Hey man! You coming?' Eron called to him from the end of the hallway. Trek pushed all thoughts aside and tried focus on the task again.

He really couldn't wait for this to be over.
