''Are you sure they won't mind that I come with you'' I ask Charles again as we walk to the restaurant where all the drivers have their dinner tonight. I push my sunglasses closer to the bridge of my nose. Looking down at the ground, holding Charles his hand as we walk in past the flashing lights of the camera's.
''They didn't care the last time; they won't care now.'' He says as we got inside, away from the cameras. I smile at him as a waiter shows us the table where most of the other drivers are already sitting on. We take out seat, Charles is sitting next to Pierre, and I'm being seated next to Lando. which I'm happy about.
'' Has your ego grown so big that you leave your sunglasses on in a restaurant?'' He smirks at me. I give him a small smile as I take them off. Hoping that my make-up did the work it is supposed to do. So, no one can see what happened this afternoon, especially Lando. If he sees it, he will figure it out in a second.
''Right, I forgot I had them on'' I laugh not looking at him. I can hear Charles having a conversation with Pierre in French. So, I just look down at the table, not really knowing what to do now.
''Why are you avoiding me?'' Lando whispers.
''I am not'' I say still not looking at him. his hand touches my forearm, I just ignore it and hope that someone will come soon to take our order.
But when he gently squeezes my forearm, I grit my teeth and look at him. ''Don't do that'' I hiss taking my arm away from his. his expression looks shocked, but again I just ignore him. I turn my body towards Charles and put my hand on his shoulder to get his attention.
'' I'm going to the toilet quickly; I'll be right back.'' I whisper. I don't wait for his answer and get up quickly. I quickly walk to the toilet, hoping Lando won't follow me. when I get to the ladies' room, I walk over to the mirror to look at my face.
I look at my left eye, if you don't know what happened yesterday you won't see the bruise so quickly. But I already had the feeling yesterday when I sent Lando out of my room that he had a feeling that something wasn't right that somewhere in his head he knew something was going to happen. and I feel guilty that Lando is the one who is now finding out what has been going on for years and that Charles still has no clue.
