TW: Descriptions of violence and gore

Y/n walked into the store, that just happened to be for doors. Breathing in the fresh scent of fresh wood and metals. She was in desperate need for one since her back door was basically shattered because of her dear friend Michael. Not only was she dreading the cost of this whole experience, but dreading the fact that she couldn't eat out for a while.

"Anythin' I can help ya with ma'am?" A short old man wearing overalls appeared next to her, almost scaring the living daylights out of her. His accent showed he was definitely not from Midwest, and more Appalachian. "Um, I was wondering if you tell me where the glass doors are?"
" 'Course, it's 'round back next to screen doors. We don't like putting 'em up front"
His dialect was almost ineligible, but luckily she understood most of what he said. "Thank you" she said shyly and walked away. "Shore thing, holler if ya need anything"

Y/n skittered to the back, looking for the lowest price she could find for a door. It was entering winter, and having a shattered door would've been hell on earth. Michael wasn't capable of paying her for the door, obviously. He needed to pay her back somehow. After 15 minutes of browsing she decided on the design similar to what she previously had. A French 9-pained off-white design.

"I reckon yer pert-near done with decidin" the short man appeared next to Y/n. She didn't jump this time and nodded. "I'd like this one" she pointed "Do you guys install?" Y/n wasn't going to humor herself and try to replace the door on her own. "Why yes, I's gots two kin that do amite fine job of instillashuns" his manner of speaking and pronunciation almost made her head spiral. "I'd like to have a door replaced. It probably needs new hinges, too" "Shore, I'll check ya out up front"

The assumed store manager said that he'd send two of his sons, who also work there, to replace the door by tomorrow afternoon. 12 to be exact.

Y/n dedicated herself for a full day of research about her past, especially the fact the she didn't even know she was medicated for a while. She was sat at the kitchen table with her laptop open, scrolling away with one hand while the other held a drink of her choice. Diazepam...Diazepam...Diazepam. The name of the prescription drug echoed through her mind. Looking at pages of side effects. All of it seemed to add up why she couldn't remember Michael.

Sometime after she met Michael her mother must've put her on the drug. But why? What happened that made her think Y/n needed to be on an anti-anxiety medication?
Her head started to churn in thought. What could it have been?

"DON'T TAKE HER FROM ME!"
"They don't deserve you, Y/n"
"I hate this place"
"I killed them"
A bell in her head dinged. The night Michael had finally snapped. The one she had read about in articles and forums. He had killed 3 people that night. And she was there. Her breath became sharp, those bad memories of that very date in October. What the dark night sky had looked like. The children laughing. The Jack o' lanterns flashing candles. The blood curdling scream of Deborah.

She covered in mouth in shock. All of her memories were unfolding. Her mother wanted her to forget Michael. Michael. She finally somewhat knew what he was after with her. Y/n was his only true friend.
Her eyes watered in betrayal. How could her mother not tell her about this? It was not right at all to hide such a thing from her. Was it all just to protect her? She didn't know what to believe anymore.

Michael came into mind again. Where he goes is still a mystery to her. But she needed to talk to him again desperately. She searched the house top to bottom for him. He was nowhere to be found. Y/n hoped she didn't upset him the other day when she snapped at him. She somewhat missed his presence, despite knowing his gruesome past and present.
