The next few days consisted of learning the ropes of the house itself, where the sisters were typically located and where the Lady would be during all times. Natalia took notice of the times when all the ladies were more active, all more at night yet they did still awaken early like the maids. Either they didn't need sleep or they only got a few hours each.
Each of the sisters practically ignored Natalia ever since the 'test', presumably because they did it with every maiden and it wasn't just a one-off; but who's to say?
Sounds of screaming were heard on the regular, Natalia knew that if she were to mess up then she'd be punished; she simply had to get used to the sounds and prey to God every night, hoping her colleagues were sent to him safely. Although, she had hope for her time at Castle Dimitrescu, reading her Bible gave her the very hope that even if she messed up, she'd have a life up above waiting for her. Her mood changed slightly afterwards, the Bible on her bedside table was the culprit.
The maid completed daily chores such as cleaning the kitchen after the kitchen staff finished making and organising the food and such, dusting the library and filling the Lady's glass of wine during dinner times.
Natalia was the second maid for the task of filling Lady Dimitrescu's wine glass, the previous one spilt the glass in anxiety and got killed afterwards. She, on the other hand, had worked with previous masters with the same thing and knew what to do to make sure she never dropped the bottle nor make a careless mistake.
Her lady noticed how hard she worked when simply pouring some wine and noticed how at ease she was, the beginning of her time at Castle Dimitrescu was when she was more stressed but now, she's simply normal here as if she'd been working here for years.
The maid knew that her tasks in the castle were subtly getting harder as well, her usual tasks were getting harder due to the sisters venturing out and annoying the staff members, trying to get a reaction from them. Natalia was one of their victims but she didn't even notice half the time.
One time the oldest sister, Bela, went down to the maid's level when she was polishing the floorboards and tried to scare her. It didn't work as Natalia was too 'in the zone' and simply wasn't scared of Bela.'Stupid maid' Bela hummed and sped off afterwards.
Today though, it was the day to make sure the books in the library were in alphabetical order. The books moved whenever someone else read them, typically the only readers were the Lady and her daughters. Lady Dimitrescu always put the books back where they belonged whilst her daughters were 50/50.
It was getting towards seven in the evening and this was the last task of the day before going into the servant's quarters, not many others had tasks at this time but there were still various ones. Natalia was keeping track of the books being taken out by the sisters throughout the week so she'd know what was missing and check if they were already in the right place on the shelf.
Walking through the hallway, Natalia noticed a small pool of blood on the carpet and her first instinct was to clean it but that wasn't her chore today. She'd warn another maid to clean up if one were to walk past. She stayed still for a minute, waiting for another maid to come through but no one came through.
Sighing out, she ignored the mess and went through the doorway to the library to see nothing out of the ordinary. Ancient books from centuries ago, check. Pillars and small landings, check. Lady Dimitrescu sitting down and reading a book, check-
'Lady Dimitrescu is here?? I mustn't mess up even by the slightest now' Natalia said to herself, walking into the library further after shutting the door closed. She walked towards where she noticed particular books from where the sisters chosen books were slightly disorganised and quickly sorted out the messes.
