it was the day of the spelling bee. anticipation kept the students in its clutches, and so did boredom for those who couldn't care any less about it.
the student council was currently busy prepping for the competition, setting up tables and chairs in their proper designated places.
venti, being in charge of events, was helping organize everything. he made sure everybody was doing exactly as they were told.
a certain blonde duo, who were well known transfers, had been observing the scene closely from afar.
and soon, the lunch bell rang. mere moments later, the gym grew crowded with students and teachers bustling about. chattering and laughter rose within the concealed area, it was getting louder as each minute passed by.
you pushed through the large groups of students and teachers to get to the front stage, where your other friends had been standing idly by.
"ah y/n! there you are. thought the crowd ate you up," venti giggled.
you furrowed your eyebrows in irritation, "it might as well have. the bell rang not even 5 minutes ago and the gym is already packed."
heizou exhaled with exaggeration and shook his head. "these nerds just love the spelling bee," he commented, before leaning closer to you and whispering, "it's me. i'm nerds."
you couldn't help but chuckle, rolling your eyes at him. "so when is it going to start?"
"we have to wait for fontaine high to arrive," kazuha replied.
then as if on cue, the gym doors opened, revealing the fontaine student council. there stood 7 students; 3 males and 4 females.
you all watched as the bunch meandered towards the stage.
"apologies for the delay. freminet got us lost," clorinde explained, surprising the poor blonde boy standing next to her. "no i didn't!" freminet refuted almost immediately.
"his sense of direction is a little lacking. anyway, thank you for having us today," navia continued. freminet simply pouted, not bothering to defend himself any further.
"it's alright aha. we are glad you could join us," jean reassured them with a smile, then looked around confused, "where's focalors?"
"unfortunately she wasn't able to join us today. we hope that won't be too much trouble?" neuvillette questioned. jean shook her head in response, "of course not. please do take your seats and let us begin."
