Anya's POV
I am now 8 months along. I don't get up a whole lot anymore. The extra weight on my body makes it harder for me to walk. It's not a bad thing. I love our child even though it hasn't been born yet. I decide to walk down the hall to the nursery. It's almost finished. We painted half the room blue and the other half purple. I thought it would be fun to do half and half on the room especially since we don't know the gender of our baby. We decided we wanted to keep it a surprise for when our baby's born.I open the door and walk in. There's a crib that sits right under the window in the middle of the room with a little mobile that has horses on it. There's a small bookshelf in the room for when they get older. Then there's a changing table. Beside the crib is a few stuffed animals and in front of the crib is a colorful rug. Babies tend to like really colorful things. Right next to the crib is a light brown rocking chair. I walk over to it and sit down. I start to rock back and forth in the chair. Over the last few months as we were setting up the nursery I liked to do this.
It's calm and relaxing and it takes a lot of stress off my mind. It also allows me to just focus on our baby.I close my eyes once I start rocking back and forth. A few minutes later I hear the door quietly open. Damian walks over to me. He wraps his arms around me. "Hey Darling you doing okay?" He asks. I looks up at him. "Mmm...yeah" I say. "Good and how's our baby doing?" He asks. "They're doing just fine" I say with a smile. Then our baby starts kicking.
I grab onto Damians hand. "Whoa hey what's wrong?" He asks concerned. "The baby is....kicking" I say. He nods. He puts a hand on my stomach. After a few more minutes the baby finally settles down. "Are you okay?" Damian asks. "Yeah" I say. I get up from the chair with Damians help. Then I just hug him. He wraps his arms around me. He knows I need this especially right now. He knows I need the comfort he gives me. I look up at him. He smiles.
We then make our way down to the living room. Damian has been working from home lately. He wants to be here to help me with whatever I need and he wants to be here if I go into labor while he's at work. His boss did agree to it luckily. I now sit on the couch with Damian right next to me working on his laptop. I curl up and lean into him. He looks over at me and smiles. He puts one arm over me. I smile at him. He continues working with his only other free hand. I forgot that he was a fast typer. He was typing super fast with his one hand.
Damian's POV
I've been keeping a close eye on Anya. I honestly can't tell if she's getting more nervous or excited as she gets closer to the due date. I spend more time with her as I know this may be the last time I get to spend any time with her for a while. I'm currently working on my laptop with one hand while my other arm is around her. I enjoy these little moments. I enjoy these moment where we can just sit in silence with light background noise and it's not awkward. Then again it's never really been awkward for us. Even when we were just friends it wasn't awkward. We had some rivalry going on when we were kids but never awkward and that's one thing that I love about our entire relationship. I finally finish my work and close my laptop. Then I hear soft breaths next to me. I turn my head to look at Anya. She has fallen asleep leaning on me. She has one hand laying beside her and the other on her stomach. I carefully put my laptop down next to me. I carefully get up and she stirs a bit. I pick her up and carry her up to our room. I put her down on the bed.
I lay beside her. She curls into me. I wrap my arms around her. I rub calming circles on her stomach to hopefully keep the baby calm. She seems to relax. A few hours go by and I open my eyes to pink hair. I always wake up to that. It's always a joy to be able to wake up to that. I look over at the clock to check the time. It's 5pm. We weren't asleep for too long. I slowly get up careful not to wake up Anya. I walk downstairs and into the kitchen to make dinner.
Anya always tries to make dinner but with how far along she is she can't stand up for long so even though she wants me to let her make dinner I don't let her. She gets upset and pouts sometimes but I make it up to her. Plus I feel bad that she can't do everything she used to do. I make sure to give her more affection than she's used to. After a couple minutes I feel a pair of small arms wrap around me. I already know it's Anya. "Hello Darling did you have a good nap?" I ask. She nods against my back. She peeks around me to see what I'm making for dinner.
About 30 minutes go by and dinner is ready. I set it down on the table. The table is already set since Anya wanted to help. We both sit down. We start talking about everything and eating. After a while we clean up and then we settle on the couch to watch a movie. I smile at her. She shows me her brightest smile. My cheeks still turn a slight pink from that smile. She snuggles into me as I pull a blanket onto us and I turn on the movie.
Hey everyone!!!! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in a while!!! I got into a car accident and then we had to deal with our insurance company and worrying about money and then getting CPS called on us. And when we tried to go camping we couldn't find a camping spot. It's been a roller coaster to say the least these past few weeks. So anyone who reads this will you please leave boy and girl names in the comments. It's so hard for me to find good names sometimes so that would really help. Thank you! Also I hope you all are doing well!!!
Byyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeee!!!
