Halloween special

Anya's POV
My kids are so excited for Halloween to arrive. They are 6 now. They helped me decorate our house for Halloween. There's orange and purple lights lining the rails of the stairs. Pumpkins, ghosts, and skeletons are hung in different places around the house. The outside of the house has 4 carved pumpkins sitting on the porch. A few tiny ghosts hang from our tree in the front yard. Tiny plastic pumpkins light the walkway of our house.

Cotton is on the roof of our house to look like a spider web with a few tiny visible spiders in it. The kids love it. Leo decided he wanted to be a ghost for Halloween and Elizabeth wants to be a princess. I made Leo's costume myself. We bought Elizabeth's costume and I made a few adjustments to it. She has a tiara. It's a few days until Halloween is officially here but Leo and Elizabeth are so excited for it. The kids just got off the bus and ran inside. Damian and I couldn't find time to pick them up every day so we had them start taking the bus. "Mama!!" Elizabeth yells. I look down at the little girl hugging my leg.

"Hey what's up guys?" I say. "Guess what?" Elizabeth shouts practically jumping up and down. "What?" I ask. "I got candy!!! We had a Halloween party in class and I got lots of candy look Mama!!" She says talking quickly. I smile at her. "That's wonderful" I say. Leo comes in after closing and locking the door. "Hello Leo how was school?" I ask. "It was good. I got some candy from the Halloween party and Elizabeth and our friends hung out with me so it was good" he says in his normal quiet voice with a small smile on his face. I smile back at him.

"I'm glad you both had a good day. Do you guys have any work to do for school?" I ask. They shake their heads. "Are you telling the truth?" I ask suspiciously. "No" Leo admits. "I'm sure it's not too hard so go finish it up and then we can make a fall treat for later okay?" I say. They nod excitedly and run up the stairs. "Don't run on the stairs!!" I shout after them. They laughs and I shake my head with a smile. "Crazy kids" i mutter. I finish tidying up the kitchen and then i sit down and wait for the twins to finish their schoolwork.

A few moments later I hear two pairs of footsteps coming down the stairs. I look to them. "You guys ready?" I ask. They nod excitedly. "Okay show me your work" i say. They both show me a paper of finished work. "Okay put your work on the table and let's make a fall treat before your dad gets home" i say. They smile brightly. They run and put their stuff down and then wash their hands. "Okay let's get to work" I say. They both nod.

Leo's POV
I feel bad but I lied to mama. My day wasn't that good. I got bullied again for being quiet and reading instead of playing like the normal kids. Elizabeth protected me...she always does. We have a small group of friends though. We're the outcasts but we have fun together. I did have fun though. My friends made sure if that. We don't care if we're the outcasts we know that kids tend to not like you when you're too different from them and mama said to be myself so I will. I did get candy and I am very excited for Halloween.

Elizabeth's POV
Leo and I haven't told Mama or dad about the bullies. Leo doesn't want them to worry but I think it would be better if they knew. I can't tell them though, it's not mine to tell. I did make sure Leo had fun today though since it was out class Halloween party. Anyway it took us like an hour but we made pumpkin shaped cookies with orange frosting. Mama let us have one.

Anya's POV (again)
I get the feeling my kids aren't telling me something but I can't force them. We made the treat and I let them each have one. Damian got home soon after. He came up to me and gave me a peck on the lips. "Ew!" The twins say and unison. I laugh at them. A few days go by and it's Halloween. We go through our days and soon it's nighttime. "You guys ready to go trick or treating?" I ask. "Yeah" they both shout. "Okay then go get ready"I say. Damian smiles at me as the twins race up the stairs. "Be careful" I shout.

"Darling you worry too much" he says wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "I know but I just can't help it" I say. He kisses my cheek. "I know" He replies. A few moments later our kids come running down the stairs all dressed up in their costumes. Elizabeth is dressed in a long dress with a crown sitting on top of her head. Leo is dressed in armor and a fake sword. "And who are you supposed to be?" I ask them both. "I'm a queen!" Elizabeth shouts excitedly. "And I'm her knight" Leo says.

I smile at them both. "Can I get a picture of the two of you?" I ask. They nod. I take out my phone and snap a picture of my kids in their costumes. "Okay let's go get some candy" Damian says. They smile brightly. Leo holds my hand with the other holding his bag. Elizabeth holds Damian's hand with her other hand holding her bag. She has a huge smile on her face. I intertwine my fingers with Damian's. He looks at me and smiles. "Okay let's go" I say. We walk out the door and begin our night of trick or treating with our kids. They look like they're having fun already even though we've barely started.

Hey everyone!! Sorry I've been gone for so long I'm trying to pass high school!! I'm like 2 1/2 months into my senior year and I have so much credit recovery work because I failed 2 classes in my freshman year and decided to not make those up and I'm clearly paying for it now 😭
Anyway my sister loves Halloween so I thought why not make a Halloween special! I hope you all like it.  I also hope I didn't make this too dark. Happy Halloween 🎃
