He swears he saw it coming. In the back of his mind, there was a constant nagging voice that tells him to never let himself forget that all good things in his life always seem to come to an end.

His mom.

His grandma.

Him.

In retrospect, he can't help but give himself some credit. He was young.
Not naive because his bastard of a father made sure of that.
But still young enough to hope for good things to happen.
To believe that good things can happen to him and that he deserves them.
For quite some time, he was convinced it was true.

But just when he felt like everything is falling in place, that's when everything starts to fall apart.

He tried to save it.
Heaven knows he tried to save it.
But in the end, he realized that fighting for something...for someone who doesn't fight for you—with you, leads to nothing but pain.
So he accepted his fate and lets go.
