Nothing ever good came since the day I started procrastinating. Some said it was my ADHD but I labelled it as my muscle laziness. No matter what, nothing and nobody could pay me enough to do an assigned job earlier than its deadline, it was always met barely before the deadline.
Nothing and nobody was on priority, except for my mental health.
I had realized, you got no extra incentives or appreciation for doing work earlier than its deadline. Why hurry then?
I knew I was incorrigible, and that could be attested by my haste arrival at this mall.
It was my sister's birthday today and still my fucking ass couldn't buy a gift before.
If she hadn't been married, I would have barely cared about buying a gift for her. My arrival in this world and acceptance of her as my sister was enough for a lifetime gift for her..........No, it wasn't, but she didn't really care about it, she loved me anyway and she wasn't a complaining person either.
But it was her first birthday after her marriage and her husband had held a grand party in the awaken.
I didn't want to embarrass her by not bringing a gift when I knew every other guest was going to give her one. I doubted if she would really be embarrassed since she was a spiritual person who didn't care about materialistic things. Emotions mattered more to her.
Shifting my gaze to each store I could see around, I chose Carolina Herrera, a known perfume brand that I had been hearing from her for quite a long time.
Maybe she wanted me to buy this for her, she had been very selective since childhood. She was very classy.
She was a confused lady, unaware of her desires and needs. She didn't know herself, about what she wanted and what she did not.
"Good afternoon, Mam! How may I help you?" a cheerful tone prompted me to look back.
Chubby cheeks, tinted lips and light brown hair. A young salesgirl beamed at me, promising me the best service here, so I could be provoked to buy something from here for sure.
Everything was a business in this world, love, friendship and empathy..........
"I figure, no, but I will call you if perhaps I require your assistance! Thanks for now!" I gave her a soft smile and she wistfully nodded.
If I really had to buy something, I wanted time, privacy and introspection, that could not possibly be done under her presence.
I usually felt awful around strangers.
I slowly walked around the lane of the shop, scrutinizing every bottle to pick that one aesthetic, impactful and mesmerizing perfume.
Either they were out of my paying will for the service they provided or too bleak to grow any interest in me.
I walked past the same salesgirl from before with an apologetic smile.
I knew she was judging me since the moment I entered the shop, considering me a random window shopper, though I proved to be one.
I bumped into someone as I looked around for a better option.
"Sorry!" I apologized instantly but the male ahead of me wasn't pleased and that is when I noticed, I had bumped into him while he was on a call and now the supposedly expensive-looking phone was on the floor.
My eyes slightly widened in guilt and surprise.
"Maybe if you could remove the blindfold of foolishness from your eyes, you could walk around better and safely!" I heard him say to me, glaring at me.
