Everyone in Woodsboro had heard of the new family moving in. It was the house across from the Carpenters', and rumor had it that this new neighbor was also the owner of bakery that was soon to open.
Sam, who had already been asked several times to babysit the various children in the neighborhood, was immediately interested in the news.
So as soon as she saw the moving truck and a woman start taking out the boxes, she took a chance and crossed the street quickly.
Once close enough she heard the woman call for someone. "Winnie ? Could you help me instead of eating the polystyrene please ?"
"But they're all pink and pretty." A small voice answered from the truck.
"I know but-" The woman turned the box in her hands then smiled when she noticed the presence of the young girl. "Huh hi ?"
"Hi, Samantha Carpenter." She smiled back gently gesturing her house behind her. "I'm the neighbor across the street."
"It's nice to meet Sam. I'm Love Quinn." She smiled as she walked back towards the house. "Just let me put that box down and I'll get back to you."
"Yeah no problem." Sam nodded as she saw the woman walking away.
Suddenly, a blonde head popped out of a box.
"You're wasting your time." The little girl says while continuing to chew the polystyrene.
"What do you mean ?" Sam asked with a frown, bending down slightly towards the child.
"She'll never want you to babysit me."
She observed the girl more closely. Her hair was messed up, her glasses were twisted a little on her nose, her arm was in a splint. Sam at first glance didn't give her more than twelve, which was perfect.
"I think I'll give it a shot anyway." Sam smiled, ruffling the blonde's messy hair.
Love came back quickly, rubbing her hands in relief from letting go of the weight.
"So, I couldn't help noticing that you had an adorable child with you." Sam said gently, sending a quick to the little blonde who seemed to be sulking in her box.
"Yeah, that's my niece Guinevere." Love announced turning to the child. "Say hi Winnie."
"Hi Winnie." She grumbled as she sank into the box with her back to the two women.
Love chuckled. "Don't worry she's always like that with new people."
"So by the way, I baby-sit the neighborhood kids, if you're interested..." She said holding out a piece of paper with her number on it.
"That's so sweet." The woman smiled as she put the paper in her pocket. "I'll think about it, thanks Samantha."
"What my aunt is trying to tell you politely is that it's a definite no-"
"Winnie." She cut her off looking at her sternly.

"What do you want ?" Guinevere asked dryly as she saw Sam walk up to the counter.
"Aren't you too young to work ?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
Guinevere had an apron in the name of the bakery specially for her size, had to tie her hair neatly, but had flour all over her. And no trace of Love behind the counter. Just this little blonde girl who needed a stool so we could see her.
