School has started about a month ago. That meant I had met Lucia about a month ago. I still hadn't gotten over what had happened in her room that night. And when I walked in on her carrying her roommate. God, her muscles...

"Hey, can I see your notes," a voice next to me said. I turned and saw a face I didn't know.

"Buzz off, nitwit." I wouldn't even have given them the notes even if I had been taking them, which I hadn't, because I was thinking about Noceda....

I somehow made it through the rest of the class. Why did I even sign up for an ancient Egyptian history class in the first place? That didn't matter. It was easy enough so that I could pass the tests without paying attention in class.

When I was walking out of my class. I had about 2 hours for a break, so I thought I'd go visit Lucia at The Owl House. She was working today since it was Friday. Don't ask me how I have her schedule memorized.

I looked at my phone. 2 pm. Lucia gets off at 3. Then I got a text from Boscha.

Boscha: HEYYYY AMELIA

Amelia: what do you want

Boscha: well
Boscha: so i got invited to this party
Boscha: was wondering if u wanted to come w me

Amelia: no

Boscha: i thought as much :'(

I put my phone back in my pocket and started my walk to the cafe. The air was getting even more chilly as the best season crept closer. I enjoyed fall more than any other season. Winter was fine too. The warm seasons sucked, which sucked for me too, since my birthday was in May.

My thoughts went on for a while, and before I knew it I was at the Owl House. A little bell dinged when I opened the door. I saw Lucia in the back preparing a drink. She wore a maroon apron which she had already customized with pins. One of them had a cat on it, another had a blue, purple, and pink design on it.

I stopped staring at her and sat down at the coffee bar. I got on my phone while waiting for somebody to take my order.

"What can I get for ya kid?" I perked up at first, thinking it was Lucia. But it was just Eda, Luz's manager. Don't get me wrong, she was nice, she just wasn't...Lucia...

I escaped my thoughts. "Just the usual black coffee, thanks," I said, looking back at my phone.

"Kay, kid." She walked away.

"Whatcha doin' Blight?" I heard a familiar voice from behind the bar. Don't panic, just be cool. Like you were back at Luz's place that first night. Dontblushdontblushdontblush. Why was I acting like this? Did I really have a crush on Noceda? NOCEDA?! Ugh.

"Uh— n- well, I'm just scrolling, I guess," I said really quietly for some reason. Whattttt was I doingggg?!

"Ah. Nice, I guess. Did Eda already help you out?"

"Yeah. She's getting my order ready I think."

A short silence followed before Luz said, "Are— are you doing anything tonight, Blight?"

Second time today I had been asked about tonight. "Uh, not that I can think of, no."

"Oh, well, uh.. Willow invited me to a party through mutual friends, I guess. And- uh— I was wondering if you wanted to come with me— US. With us..."

I giggled a little bit at Lucia's awkwardness. That seemed to relieve some tension. "Sure, I'd love to." LOVE?! I HATE PARTIES! I guess it wouldn't be too bad to go with Lucia though.
