Their first fight was only 2 months after becoming official. His daughter was spending her usual 2 weeks with his family in Barbados and he was leaving the next week to spend her last week with her like they did every year. Crystal had been gone on vacation for over a week and now they were arguing about it.

"I didn't wanna interrupt your time with Shay," she said defensively.

She had been pleasantly surprised by the flowers when he picked her up from the airport. She'd come home and expected sex like the last time but instead they'd just gone to bed. Now she'd give him credit he waited a day and it wasn't until she had asked him what was up, having felt his energy was off, did the argument start.

A few moments before, she'd been silently watching him sit at her island clearly thinking about something while she moved around the kitchen making breakfast.

"What's up with you? you okay?," she asked. She knew it had to be something big since he was usually quick to speak up about whatever was on his mind and him being quiet was worrying her.

"You remember when we had that conversation about communication?," he asked instead of answering the question.

"Yeah," she said confused.

"And you said you need honesty and we can't go days without speaking and I said the same," he said.

"Yeah, babe where you going with this?," she questioned.

"I would've liked for you to remember that while you were gone," he said staring at her. She was taken aback by his tone and immediately went on the defense.

Now they were staring at each other in silence once she said she didn't want to interrupt his daddy daughter time.

"Crystal you were gone over a week and I barely heard from you, come on," he said staring up at her while she stood with her arms folded, having turned off the eye that was cooking eggs since she could already tell this conversation needed her full attention.

"We spoke while I was gone and you were busy too it wasn't just me," she argued.

"So that makes it okay we didn't really communicate the whole time you were gone?, I'm not asking for hours, I'm asking for a goodnight call, a good morning call, damn a text would be okay," he said throwing his hands up. Now one thing about it she didn't like confrontation or arguing but she really didn't like being cussed at.

"If you want to cuss we can," she said staring at him.

"Did you not hear what I said?," he asked and she could tell he was getting pissed but she was too and now it was no turning back.

"Yes Joren I did but I will not stand here while you cuss at me," she said getting louder.

"I said damn, shit I think you trying to make that a big deal cause you don't like admitting you were wrong for that shit," he said shaking his head as he rose his voice a little too.

"This nigga still cussing," she said to herself feeling her body start getting hot.

"If you not gonna talk to me like an adult and instead like I'm a stranger on the street I'm bout to do the same," she said. He seemed to pause as he took in a deep breath while taking notice of her body language.

"Okay my bad, no cussing, I'm not trying to argue with you and I know you not someone in the streets, what you did pissed me off, I even told you about it last time and you did it again," he said leaning back in the chair. She relaxed seeing he wasn't gonna cause her to act out too much but was still on the defense.

"You do know I'll have to travel for work right?," she asked getting smart.

"That's different and you know it," he argued back.
