They'd both been up early that morning and like everyday whether they were in the same house or not they prayed together and did their devotional. Today was a special day, not only was it Sunday but it was also Easter. Now as Christians everyday was in celebration of the Lord but of course Resurrection Sunday was even more special.
He'd grown up Baptist and Resurrection Sunday was always a special day. He grown up acting with the other Sunday school kids in the reenactment of the crucifixion and then resurrection of Jesus Christ until he was 16. Easter was always very important in his family and he could always look back on the day with great memories and he knew today would be another.
"Babe you ready?," he asked calling to her standing by the stairs. He looked up and waited for her reply.
"Yeah coming now," she said.
As he waited he checked himself in the hallway mirror. He made sure his watch and cross chain were good and that overall his outfit looked good. Mama ain't raise no fool and he knew he couldn't come to the Lord's house any kind of way! Though he could admit since being with Crystal and joining her church he'd become more open to dressing down at church. Change church really made people comfortable not dressing up all the time and he was comfortable coming as he was just not with his mother or aunts cause they did not play that. He had grown up attending church in his "Sunday's best" no matter what and when he went home to Chicago it was still the same.
He heard movement from the stairs and looked up to see her coming down. He'd seen her suit when he was in her closet the other day but to see it on her he couldn't help but smile.
"You look beautiful," he said coming to the railing and placing his hands on her waist. He stroked the skin that was showing and leaned in to kiss her.
"Thanks babe, you look handsome, you snuck out before I could see the fit," she said once they pulled away.

"Thank you and I didn't sneak you were too busy singing in the shower and getting all this together," he teased gesturing to her face and hair. He laughed when she hit his shoulder and moved to walk past him. He stopped her with an arm around her waist and luckily didn't have to bend far to her ear.
