Chapter 18 : "An Endless Hunt"

The four of you ran out of the mines and into the silent woods "Are you kiddin' me?! It's still coming! It pushed off all that weight!" ace said as he looks behind him seeing the monster chasing them "Ooooooooogh...! Giiive it baaaaack...!" the monster roared back "It's too fast! It's about to catch us!" deuce freaked out "Then it's kill or be killed!" you said as the two looks at you "Aw, fine! Let's just smash the thing. Try not to wet yourself, Deucey!" ace said as he takes out his magic pen "Same to you, Ace!" deuce said glaring at ace as grim stops running before giving you the stone "I'm gonna show ya why they call me Grim the Great!" grim said before taking a deep breath

The three panted as the monster laid in the ground "Is it... over?" ace panted out "I think... we won? I think we did it!" grim said as he looks at the monster "All right!" "Woohoo!" "Gimme a victory high-five!" the three said as they gave each other high-fives "WATCH OUT!" you screamed as the monster rose up "MY STOOOOOOONEEEEEE" The monster yelled as you gave ace the stone before charging towards the monster with your katanas "[NAME]!" the three yelled out as you avoided the monster's pickaxe before jumping on it arm and stabbing the monster in the head 

The three looks at you at shock as you pulled out your katana from the monster head and jumping down "Are you ok!?" deuce said as he ran towards you "Yeah..... i'm ok" you panted out as you put your hands on your knees "Shared adversity sure brings people together, huh?" you teased as the three looks away "Uh... I don't think that had anything to do with it" deuce said as he helps you to stand up "Yeah! Spare us the clichés, [Name]!" ace said crossing his arms still holding the stone "There's no "together" here! We won 'cause of me! This is all from me bein' a magical genius!" grim boasted "Y'know... I hate to admit it, but... We mostly won because of your plan" ace grumbled 

"Yeah... if you hadn't managed to keep your cool and tell us all what to do, we never would have got this magestone now I won't get expelled, And wow, is THAT a relief!" deuce sighed out "I'm just glad no one got hurt" you said as you look at the three "eah, yeah, lessons were learned, et cetera. Can we just go home already? I'm wiped" ace said as he hands you over the stone "Usin' all that magic made me hungry!" grim said as he saw something on the ground "Huh? What's this?" he said as he picks it up "Is that a part of the monster we just beat? It looks like... a magestone? But it's black as coal! I've never seen one like that before" deuce said as he crouch down to grim looking at the black stone as his paws

"What IS this? It smells amazing!" grim said as he sniffs the black stone "Are you insane?" ace said looking at grim weirdly "Must be some kinda fancy monster candy that it was hidin' from us! If this tastes half as good as it smells..." grim said as he ate the black stone making the three of you jump back at surprise and disgust "Did you seriously just eat that?!" you screech at grim "MYAAAH!" grim exclaim in shock "Are you okay?!" deuce ask grim worriedly "That's what you get for eating trash" ace said crossing his arms and shaking his head "Oooooogh... Urrrgggh... That... was AMAZING!" grim said his eyes shining "What?!" you three said in shock "Rich in flavor and full-bodied... Like sweet, fragrant flowers burstin' into bloom on my tongue, A whole field of 'em! Right in my mouth!" grim spoke "Gross. Monsters must have real weird ass tastes." ace said in disgust "You might be onto something there... Most humans don't take random stuff they find on the ground and just pop it into their mouths" deuce said as he rubs the back of his head 

"Monsters really will eat anything, I guess." you mumble to yourself "Myah ha ha ha! Man, was that great! Don't worry about me. I don't got a weak stomach like you humans do" grim said as he puts his paws at his hips "Hmph. We'll see if you're so smug when you're sick later tonight." ace said as he stuck his tongue out t grim which grim blow a raspberry at ace 

"Okay, let's pull ourselves together. We need to get this magestone to the headmage!"
