Chapter 10- The ending

Josh's POV

I take in a deep breath, and close my eyes. I still hear Colleen saying my name.
I hear footprints coming down the stairs. I open my eyes, and I see Colleen.
She walks towards me. She's wearing a long, white, dress.
"Colleen?" I say.
She says nothing, and keeps walking to me.
She stops right in front of me.
She picks up my hand
"Joshua, I love you so much. I need you to be here with me. I need you in my life. Without you, I'm nothing. You are the one who bring happiness to my life. Josh. Please stay with me. I'm sorry about what happened. Please baby. Come back."
"Huh? W-What's going on."

My head pounds, and so does my heart. I don't understand what Colleen is talking about. I feel all shaky, and weak. The front door opens again, and I feel like I need to walk to it to see what it is.

I walk away from Colleen, and stand 10 feet from the door, and I just stare. I try to figure out what/who it is. I can barely see past the light, because all I see is light. I walk slowly to the brightness, and Colleen keeps yelling.
"JOSHUA!"
"JOSHUA. PLEASE. I NEED YOU."
I ignore her and take baby steps to the light.

These past few months keep replaying in my head. Colleens death, meeting Carly, falling in love, and getting married. Then Colleen and I's life plays. Our journey through love, sadness, and anger plays. Us kissing for the first time, Going to Hawaii, Getting married, Laughing together, kissing, and the proposal.
I feel all tingly inside, like this doesn't feel right.

I reach the door, I put my hand out into the light, but Colleen grabs me, and kisses me before I could feel the bright stuff. We grab her waist, and she grabs my head. I feel like we are floating above everything. I haven't felt her kiss in forever. I've missed it so much.
I open my eyes. Colleen is gone, and the room is filled with whiteness. I get up and walk around to see if I can find something/someone.

Then, everything leading up to the bathroom incident (a/n- happened in Promise Me) rewinds in my head then disappears. It feels like I never had a kid, or met a new person, or even got married.

My body starts shaking, and I fall to the ground. I hear mumbling in my head, but I can't hear who it is. I feel something go into my arm, and the world around me, goes black.

My eyes slowly start to open. I feel like I've woken up from a never ending nightmare. I see Colleen, with tears in her eyes looking down at the floor, and then slowly looks up at me.

Her smile widens.
"C-Colleen?" I ask
"Josh!!" She says loudly.

I then see a doctor walk in the room.
"Wh-what happened." I ask.
"Mr.Evans, you have been in a deep coma for a few weeks."

It takes a me minute to realize what happened.

"Wait so, this is real life?" I ask
"Well am I a doctor?" The doctor says
"Yes."
"Then yes. This is real life."

Colleen kisses me.
"I'm so glad you're alive Snoopy."
"So am I, Fraggle."

I am out of my coma, and Colleen is here.

Time to live my life, just the way I like it.

if you're confused, here's what happened:
In chapter 8 of Promise Me, Josh went into a deep coma, and all of the events after Chapter 8 are him dreaming in his coma. In the last chapter of I Promise, he wakes up from his coma. So Colleen dying, Lilys birth, and Josh meeting Carly never happened. It was all just a nightmare! I know, clever right? Actually, I got it from my Walking Dead theory. I think the whole Walking Dead thing, is just Rick dreaming in his coma. anyway, I might start writing another Joshleen story soon. Love you guys.
