question twenty one- boxers or briefs?

answer- perv

to say that dinner with my mom was awkward would be an understatement. when she found out that i had been with my soulmate, gerard, she had been happy for me, the proceed to try to drag me to the hospital to check and see if i was still clean. gerard and i both tried in vain to tell her that we hadn't had sex and probably never would, but she refused to give in. she constantly glared across the table at gee, especially while hacking her food apart with steak knife.

question thirty four- any allergies

answer- dairy and mornings

"so, um... mrs iero...?" i laughed softly under my breath at his amazing social skills. i held his hand under the table, brushing my thumb over his knuckles. at first, i expected it to feel weird; holding the hand of someone i just met. but, it was the complete opposite. it felt natural, like i had done it a million times before.

question fifty seven- life after death?

answer- i prefer to live now. i can worry about that later.

"you can call me linda, i suppose." at least she's being civil. "gerard, is it? not the best name—" i take that back.

"mom, what the hell?!" what was she thinking, insulting my match's name? what was she evening trying to gain?

question sixty three- cats or dogs

answer- dogs

"no, frank. it's fine, really." he smiled at me, but i could see the hurt in his eyes. "it's getting late, i need to go home."

"oh." i sighed. "i can walk you to your car...?"

he smiled, looking genuinely happy this time.

~ I ~

when i came back in five minutes later, my mum was ready to leave now that she had paid.

question seventy eight- do you enjoy tongue twisters?

answer- i'd rather have sex with a miniature pony covered in fire ants.

i glared at her, before stalking outside to wait for her by the car. she came out behind me, searching her bag for her keys. when she finally found them and unlocked the car, i climbed in and slammed my door.

she sighed and started the car. "i don't know why you're being so rude all of a sudden."

i didn't answer in favor of staring out the window at the freeway. occasionally, you could see the interior of the car when another car passed.

"really, frank. i don't know what's gotten into you. ever since your birthday you've been lashing out."

silence.

"fine. be that way."

the rest of the car ride was silent. when we got home home, i ran to my bedroom and pulled out my phone, smiling at the text notification.

from: gee

i like you more than i like your mom. meet me at the park tomorrow?

i sent a sure back, before changing into a somewhat clean pair of boxers and climbing into bed.

as i drifted off, i felt my phone vibrate as the screen lit up my room.

from: gee

noon, see you then.

a few seconds later, he sent me another message.

sleep well. i like you a lot tbh.

i smiled.

i like you too.
