Warning : Slight annoying characters, and YES I MADE AMY BLONDE. SUE ME!

~ Sophie ~

Ariela glances at Sophie's bedroom, a look of disgust and whatever the opposite of impressed is on her face.

Since King Grady and Queen Edaline, Sophie's adoptive parents, apparently thinks it's a good idea to have all of her cousins come over, she now has to deal with her spoiled cousin Ariela, her super-fun cousin Dex, and her really annoying little cousins, triplets whose names were Lex, Alex, and Rex. (a/n I changed Bex's name since I feel like the girl should get the longer name. No offense boys! #onlygirl)

"So..this is your bedroom?" Ariela inquires, walking around and side-stepping certain floorboards as if they have dust on them. News flash, they don't. "It's very..small. Humble. More like a peasant's house."

Sophie began to grow angry at her cousin's use of the word 'peasant'. Even Jolie, who wasn't the kindest at times, hated calling their subjects peasants. And her bedroom's much, much larger than any villager's bedroom, that was for sure.

"Yes, it is," Sophie replies confidently. "I—"

A knock at her door interrupts Sophie, and both girls' gazes turned to the door.

"I'll get it," she says, gritting her teeth.

Ariela smiles her fake, sickly-sweet smile at her and Sophie has to fight the urge to vomit.

She opens the door and the sight that she was met with shocks her to her core.

"Keefe?" she whispers, not believing her eyes.

Her old childhood bestfriend, with the same striking ice-blue eyes, mussed blonde hair, and overall handsome look, is at her door.

And Sophie has no idea how to react.

Should she be happy? Sad? Resentful? Or..what was that other emotion? Loving?

No no no.

'You're about to be married off to the High and Mighty Fitz Vacker', she reminds herself. 'There's no time for childhood crushes.'

But her stupidly traitorous heart still flutters, and Keefe smirks his infamous smirk as if he can just tell what she's feeling.

Apparently, Ariela knew how to react.

She immediately pushed Sophie out of the way and stands where she had been standing only seconds ago, twirling a lock of ginger hair around her finger.

"Hey, Handsome," she coos in her fake-sweet voice that makes Sophie literally want to tear her voice out of her throat. "What are you doing here?"

Keefe blinks. "I'm here for Foster, so if you could just, like, move please."

Sophie's criminal heart flutters again at the sound of Keefe's nickname for her. She can't believe he remembered it.

Ariela scowls. "Why are you here for my lowly cousin? I'm much better, I'll have you know, and richer and prettier and—"

"Maybe when you learn not to use run-on sentences," Keefe says, paying her cousin no mind. His eyes lock with her and they light up. "Hey Foster! Long time no see!"

"Hi Keefe," Sophie replies uneasily. She isn't sure where this conversation is heading.

Ariela turns on Sophie, her scowl now an evil-like expression on her face. "Wait! You said that you're due to marry Prince Fitz in four months, right?"

Sophie raises an eyebrow. "Um..yes? Why?"

Her cousin grins, and Sophie immediately knows that that means she's up to no good.

"Well, dearest cousin Sophie," says Ariela in, again, that sickly-sweet voice. "I hope you dont mind when I inform Uncle Grady and Aunt Edaline, your, oh right, adopted parents, that..well, maybe I shouldn't tell them for your own good."

Sophie starts to panic. "What, Ariela?" she asks. "What are you going to tell them?"

Ariela waves her off. "Oh, nothing," she says. "Just that King Cassius's son, Prince Keefe, is in your bedroom."

603 words.

I've decided to do it. Not in this next chapter, but the one AFTER that one. Enjoy <3
