~ Tam ~
Despite being just a village boy, I see and meet a lot of things that normal people don't. Like, for instance, beautiful-brunette princesses with teal eyes who have gotten lost on their way to the silk market, or perhaps a pretty blonde princess with brown eyes and tear-stains on her cheeks.
I mean, don't get me wrong. She's pretty and all, but I'm really into brunettes.
The girl's wearing a tiara and village clothes with her hair curled in blonde ringlets. That's strange. Wouldn't a princess be wearing pretty-pink gowns or something?
She seems to be in a hurry, but stops in the small area of grass and trees that are perfect to cover-up anyone there. She plops down on a bench, seemingly not noticing me (which a lot of people tend to do, so it's not exactly unexpected), and puts her head in her hands.
I stand up and walk over to her, stopping right in front of her. "Hey..um, it's not exactly normal for a princess to go walking around a village, you know," I say, then mentally kick myself. The girl's clearly upset and I just went ahead and criticized her life decisions!
The princess's head whips upwards and I see her brown eyes. I recognize her immediately. Princess Sophie Elizabeth Foster of the Kingdom of Havenfield, the only person in the land with eyes that weren't blue or teal.
"W-Who are you?" Sophie asks, backing away from me. "What do you want from me?"
"Nothing," I tell her. "Just wondering why a princess, such as yourself, came wandering all the way from he rKingdom to here, the Village of Exillium."
Her head cocks to the side curiously. "The Village of Exillium? I've never heard of such a place."
I chuckle softly, and she pats the space beside her, apparently deciding that I can be trusted. "Well, we're not exactly famous or anything. But I will say, I have had my fair share of runaway princesses here."
Sophie's eyes lit up. "Really! I might know them."
"Well, there's Princess Sophia the First from some faraway kingdom, Cinderella from the Charming Kingdom, who else.. ah yes, Sleeping Beauty, I'm sure you've heard of her story? She hid in our woods. And then there's Snow White from the Southern Kingdom, and.. I believe that's it."
She looks surprised. "Sophia was just a baby when I was crowned princess at the age of ten. And Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White are all widely-known, extremely famous princesses," she says thoughtfully. "Wow. You guys sure are lucky."
She turns to me, her eyes locking with my silver-blue ones. "I don't think I ever got you name, did I?"
I shake my head. "No, I don't think you did. My name's Tam Song, and I already know yours."
Sophie smiles. "Of course! Biana talks about you all the time!"
"Wait, you wouldn't happen to mean Princess Biana Vacker, would you?" I ask, suddenly giving this princess my undivided attention.
"Of course," she says, "Who else has the name Biana? The most 'fair-skinned' of them all."
We both laugh at the meaning of the name 'Biana'. "If so, they might as well have named Snow White that," I laugh, something I don't do very often.
"You don't smile very much," Sophie suddenly says, her eyes studying me. "You're an introvert, likely very intelligent and agile but most people are frightened of you because of your negative front. You probably have a sister, regarding how well this conversation is flowing, and you dyed the tips of your hair silver as a..hmm, perhaps a jab at your parents? Or maybe as a form of resistance?"
I crack a smile. "Well, I didn't expect you to be a physic, too," I joke. "But you're correct. On all fronts."
"That's very good," Sophie says, standing up and brushing imaginary dust off of her pants. "But I should be going. My parents are probably very worried."
I nod. "No worries. Do you have a ride?"
She shakes her head. "No. But I can just walk."
She begins to exit the small area before turning her head back at me. "It was nice meeting you, Tam Song," she says, smiling. "On all fronts, of course."
Then she leaves, leaving me alone in the green-meadow-type area in the middle of Exillium and wondering what has my life just turned into?

Ahh so sorry for not updating for so long, but I'm back!
