*ADELE'S POV*
I'm shocked.
No wonder him and Alex have been so pissed at me.
God i'm such an idiot.
The bell rings and i pant trying to get over what just happened. I can't.
I watch as Caitlin skips out of a different class and she spots me before coming over.
"Hey!" She smiles.
I nod.
"Everything okay?" She tilts her head.
"I don't know."
"Oh. Um do you want to come over? We can eat food and watch crappy movies?"
Max comes over and wraps his arms around Caitlin's waist from behind and burries his face into her neck.
Oh god.
I really fucked up.
My breathes quicken and the noise of the halls suddenly becomes so loud.
I'm so overstimulated.
"You okay?" Max looks at me as he rests his head on his girlfriends shoulder.
"You know yesterday i was walking to you about Riley?"
He nods.
"He heard."
"Oh."
"What did you two do?" Caitlin frowns.
"Let's go to my place." Max says.
I climb into his car in the backseat and i feel out of control of my body.
I should be happy.
Riley won't bother me.
But i'm not. I'm not happy.
"So are you two going to tell me how you hurt him or what?" Caitlin rambles.
I can't even respond. I'll make myself sick repeating it.
The drive goes by so quickly and i end up in Max's living room where the three of us sit.
"So he overheard you saying that you wouldn't date him because you thought he was loud and obnoxious?" Caitlin says after Max explained.
I nod.
I feel so nauseous.
"You and Max really are twins."
"Huh?"
"He said the same about me. Accept he said it to my face, and then i ignored him and he acted like a puppy."
Max groans, "I did not act like a puppy."
Caitlin giggles and mouths to me, 'He did so.'
"So how can i fix this then?"
"Show him you care. Show him that you do actually like him because no matter how much you deny it, we all know you do, just prove it to him."
I nod, "Okay."
Caitlin stands up and Max hooks his finger in the loop of her jeans.
"Where are you going?" He asks.
"I'm going to see Riley."
"Why?" Me and Max ask at the same time.
"Because he's my friend and i know how he feels."
"Oh." Max lets her jeans go and Caitlin leaves.
"She is such a good person." He manspreads in his chair.
I nod, "Way better than us."
He half smiles with a nod.
