*RILEY'S POV*

I am never leaving Adele alone.

Sure, she may not like me that much and sure, she always looks at me angrily but i'll wear her down. I'm sure of it.

Who can resist my amazing personality and astonishing good looks?

I leave class and meet with my friends, Alex, Corey and Scott.

They all look at me as i join the group and they are all whispering.

"What's up?" I smile.

"Have you seen the new girl?" Alex nods at Adele as she's leaning against her locker typing on her phone.

"Oh Adele," My cheeks turn pink, "She's my new neighbour."

"She's is f-ine." Corey smirks.

A wave off protectiveness washes over me but i push it aside. She doesn't want me and if she wants my friend then i guess i'll learn to deal with it.

Not.

"She doesn't talk much," I say, "Bit mean." I frown as i picture her scowling face.

"Nah, she'll love me." Alex walks off doing some type of 'sexy' walk.

They mutter a couple of words and Adele looks at him how she looks at me.

I can't determine if that's a bad thing or not.

I take it as a good thing when Alex comes back saying, "Riley was right."

I nod. Maybe she is just mean to everyone.

I walk through the main street of town as the sunsets. I go into starbucks to get myself banana bread.

I wait in line. I'm bored. I tap my feet on the ground and fiddle with the hem of my shirt until it's my turn.

The man looks very stressed and i feel so bad. Maybe i can cheer him up.

"Hi! How are you?" I smile.

He looks at me and scowls, "What can i get you?"

"Can i please have a banana bread. Please."

"With cinnamon icing or without."

I gasp, "I didn't know that was a thing oh my god, can i get both? I need to know which is better. Ooo maybe i should get some for my mum. Ugh this is such a hard decision."

The worker lets out a huff, "Can you hurry up? Cant you see we have a massive line and your holding it up." He yells.

Tears well in my eyes but i push them down, a skill i've learned over my childhood.

"I'm sorry." I whisper.

I turn around behind me and see a line of two people. There's a lady behind me and she has two kids with her.

"I'm sorry." I mutter.

She smiles gently, "Take your time, sweet."
