I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off as I groaned.
7:45 am.
I turned to my side and checked my phone. I yawned once again and finally got the strength to get up and zombie walk my way to the bathroom.
I flushed the toilet, washed my hands and brushed my teeth. Since I was going to be on a plane for about 3 hrs I decided to just put my hair into a messy bun and wear some sweat pants and a hoodie. plus winter was on it's way and Chicago was going to get really cold.
"G." I heard my brother Rick open my door. "Hey Rick" I smiled warmly hugging him tight. "are you really leaving?" He asked so innocently that I just closed my eyes hoping to not let tears come out, "no I'm not leaving you I'm just going on a volunteering program for a few months I'll be back though"
"You promise?" He looked up at me holding his hand out. "I promise Rick" I high fived him.
After packing up and taking my suitcases down stairs and putting them in the back of the taxi I said my goodbyes to Rick, Jen, Jordan, and my dad. I was sad I didn't get to say goodbye to my mom because somehow she had an 'emergency' at the hospital. My grandmother wasn't at the house when I left so I couldn't say goodbye to her either. I walked down my driveway and looked back before I got into the taxi to take one last glance at my family and my home.
I arrived at the ATL international airport to board my flight and be on my way to Chicago.
3hrs later.
I sighed as I grabbed my luggage from the luggage claim place at the Chicago airport. I walked outside to see if anyone would be waiting for me. Sure enough there was a man with a black beard and all black clothes holding a sign that read 'Chicago volunteering program applicants' I smiled and walked right up to him, "hello my names Gianna Harrington I'm one of the applicants" I shook his hand, "welcome to Chicago" he said in a deep voice while checking me out.
"Hey I'm Mariana" a girl with light brown eyes and dark curly hair said coming up to the same man and shaking his hand too. "she must be another volunteer" I thought to myself. "Get in the car" the man said signaling us to a black car with really dark windows.
We hopped into the car with our luggage and began driving. Few minutes later we came to a stop. The man who greeted us earlier opened the door and told us to get out the car. We did as we were told but someone grabbed our hands and covered our eyes with a blind fold from behind.
"Hey w. What's going on?" I started to get worried, "where are you taking us?" I said feeling someone push me into another vehicle. "please let us know!" I pleaded.
Everything was quiet for a while only thing I heard the was motor of the vehicle stopping and going again. Memories of my family rushed through my head. Was I going to die? I didn't know what was happening.
We finally came to a stop. Seconds later I heard a woman's voice but I couldn't make out what she was saying. She must have gotten closer to the van because all I heard was, "open the van" Then I started to hear the door being opened.
"Please where are we? Let's us know!" I pleaded. "get her out" I heard the woman say. I felt someone pick me up and take me out the van. But how was I supposed to know where I was I still had a blindfold covering my eyes. "Can you please take this off me" I innocently inquired. "I promise I won't say anything when the police question me" I added.
I heard the woman laughed devilishly, "oh you poor rich bitch" she said snatching the blind fold off me. "even if you did snitch on us I got people out here that'll kill you without even breaking a sweat" she looked into my eyes with anger then smiled, "welcome to Chicago baby!" She snapped her fingers, "get em inside I want them ready for when HC comes" she said walking pasted me.
