  Destiny POV

I frown my brows in annoyance, who is knocking at this time. I get up from my bed and walk towards the front door.

Before I can open it the person knocks again. I roll my eyes. I heard you the first time. I open the door and my gaze look at the torso ahead of me, damn they are tall.

I look up from the torso and I see a face. Oh my god, it's the tall women from the grocery store. She's has dark brown eyes, wearing a long black dress but with sleeves, and has beautiful darkskin.

What is she doing here? I lean back against the door frame and continue to look at her. The lady awkwardly bites her lip and I notice a fang, my eyes widen. She's a vampire, I thought..

I hear her clear her throat, I quickly get out of my thoughts. I give her my attention, she is rubbing her neck and look at me with shyness. That take me back a bit, a shy vampire that's crazy.

"Hello, dear." She said softly.

I raise a brow at her. "Who are you and why are at my house." I said bluntly. She play with her long nails and sighs.

"Oh right...I'm Talia and I knew your grandmother." My heart stopped, she knew grandma. How come I never seen her before.

"May I come in?" I bite my inner cheek, she claims that she knows her but she's a stranger. But it isn't my first time trusting a stranger, I sigh. I hope I don't get kidnapped.

I move from the door. "Come in." Her eyes went wide with shock but quickly went in. I close the door and turn to look at her. She looks around the house, she went towards a table and look at a pictures.

She smiles and look back at me. I guide her to the kitchen and pull out a chair to sit. Talia sits on the chair in front of me.

I let out a deep breath. "How do you know about my grandma?" I see her look down at the table and smile, but she look back at me.

"She saved my life." I look at her in confusion, she notices it and raise her gaze to mine. Her brown eyes softens, and grab one of my hands. I flinch a little but didn't move from her hold.

"You look a lot like her." She smiles and I avert my eyes from her. My heart aches a little hearing that. I bring my gaze to her again, and she begins to speak.

"Since you already noticed I'm a vampire. In vampire society we are not allowed to be here, you can see that I'm here... You're grandmother saved me from being killed." Her hand grip mine hard, and give her a reassuring squeeze.

She smiles at that. "When I was still in vampire territory I was out one night and I met a man who was a warlock. We later began to date but someone found out about us... I was put inside of the church, I was to stay there until my punishment. It felt like years being there, not until your grandmother and my husband saved me."

She let out a big breath. "I'm telling you this because without her help I wouldn't be here with my daughter. I am enteral indebted to your family, so if you ever need me I'm here." She gives me a big smile. I couldn't help but smile back.

Hearing this makes me think what did my grandma do. Being with her I don't remember seeing people around the house or her talking to people. It has always been me and her, now I'm just thinking about my childhood.

Has there ever been a incident her talking to someone. I frown my brow in deep thought.

I shake my head, this is a lot to think about. Then I see her hand again, maybe I can ask her. I look at her.

"Talia..have my grandma ever told you about her ability or about me?" I ask her giving her a pleading stare.

She sighs softly. "Your grandmother was a private woman, she hardly talk about herself or her family. I'm sorry."

Of course, it seems like every time I get a lead it always ends up a dead end. This is so frustrating, I bite my lip and give her a nod.

She grimace a little but nods. She let go of my hand and stands up from the chair. "I took a enough of your time, I should be heading home now."

I get up from my seat and guide her to the door. I take a look at her one more time. "Thank you for telling me this, it makes me feel closer with her." I smile at her and she smiles back.

"You don't have to thank me, just know your grandmother was an amazing person." She said and leaves the house. The house becomes quiet again and now it's just me and my thoughts.

Grandma what were you doing. You had so many secrets, I don't even know where to begin. I sigh and head back to my room.

I lay down in my bed and stay there until I sleep.

A week Later

"Two beers." I said to Silas, with quick movement hew grabs them. I take them and put them on the tray.

I come back to work the day after Talia came to my house. In a weird way I feel happy about coming back, with things I didn't know about grandma, my attack, and Michael. Coming here makes me feel normal.

It's kind of hilarious how eager I was to come back to this town just for me to feel not so happy. I push my thoughts away and place the beers on the table. The customers thank me and I go to another table.

I take orders and bring them to Silas. Rinse and repeat. Until I start seeing the place begin to be empty, I look at the time. It's almost time to close shop.

I went cleaning the tables and put stuff in the trash. I went back to the bar and I see Silas sitting on the stole smoking a cigarette. I decide to sit next to him.

"You know those aren't good for you."

He sighs. "I'm an ogre I'll live." He simply states. I laugh a little. He turn to fix his eyes on me. He frowns a little.

"What's in your head." He ask.

"You can tell?" He nods and I sigh.

"Where do I even begin, well let start with the attack. I didn't expect to be almost mauled to death by a werewolf on my third week of working. It's just that.. how is that even normal. Do you guys just get used to it? Other species just randomly attacking you and you have to deal with it." He removes the cigarette from his lips and put it out on the ashtray.

He stay silent for a minute, it look like he was collecting his thoughts.

"You never grew up around occults, so I don't blame you for being scared. What I can say is that I'm used to stuff like this, it's just people being awful . What I'm saying is that, you're just not used to it."

I bite my lip, of course he would be used to it. He was born and raised in this town. I just can't help but feel so lost.

I stop biting my lip. "Well, thanks for understanding me." He nods.

I become quiet for awhile, and Silas raise his brow at me. I rest my head on my hand and look down on the table.

"Ever since I got here it's just been one thing after another. With my grandma passing and me discovering things about her I didn't even know of, makes me feel like I didn't even know her." I grimace.

I turn to look at him. "Do you know what it's like to have your only family member that you thought you knew everything about, turned out to have so many secrets."

He starts plays with his emerald studs. "I...I do actually." He turn to look away from me.

"My... my brother was a part of something really shady, when I discovered it I felt so mad. Not at him that's the funny part but at myself. It's like how did I know this person for so long and I didn't see it."

He rubs his face. "Just know that your grandmas probably had her reasons, it might not be good or bad they're just reasons. Now you have to make a decision for yourself do you feel like your grandmas did this to hurt or protect you,It's all up to you."

Protect or hurt, I bite my inner cheek. grandma would never hurt me but I feel so confused. Why hide so much?

I clear my throat. "Thank you for the advice."

"It's no problem." He gets up from the stool and I do the same. We say our goodbyes to each others and I start heading home.
